There was an octupus dish that was very nice. Unfortunately the steak was rare when medium was asked for twice, sent back and returned still rare! Furthermore, service never came back to check as it was a busy Saturday night and there appeared to be only one person serving. As we didn't have any service, we went to the cashier to pay, said we wasn't paying for the steak, at the same time someone cleared the table while we were waiting, then the chef accused of us lying and that we had eaten everything! Unbelievable behaviour. Such a terrible experience. We should have taken warning when a table close by sent something back (before we ordered, that would have been a good time to leave). I was surprised to see that this place has a 4.5 rating, note the timeframe of other reviews and I think there might have been a change of management...

Un restaurant exceptionnel à Castellane ! Lors de mon séjour d’une semaine, c’est de loin la meilleure expérience culinaire que j’ai vécue. Dès que l’on franchit la porte, on est immédiatement enveloppé par une ambiance chaleureuse et conviviale, un peu comme si l’on arrivait chez des amis. La décoration est soignée, l’accueil est bienveillant, et l’on sent tout de suite que l’on va passer un bon moment.

Côté cuisine, tout a été absolument parfait. J’ai choisi le poulpe, présenté dans une tuile : cuisson impeccable, tendre et savoureux, un véritable régal qui a sublimé ce produit de la mer. Mon mari a opté pour la morue, et là encore, c’était un sans-faute : assiette généreuse, saveurs équilibrées, une vraie explosion en bouche. Pour terminer en beauté, nous avons partagé une tarte aux myrtilles, qui était tout simplement divine, à la fois légère et gourmande.

Au-delà des plats, ce qui rend ce restaurant unique, c’est l’attention portée aux clients. La cheffe est venue personnellement discuter avec nous, s’assurer que tout se passait bien. Ce geste témoigne d’un vrai amour du métier et d’une volonté de faire plaisir.

En résumé : une cuisine raffinée, des produits parfaitement travaillés, un service chaleureux et une atmosphère qui met immédiatement à l’aise. Ce restaurant est un véritable bijou gastronomique qui mérite bien plus que 5 étoiles. Je recommande à 100 % à tous ceux qui passent par Castellane de s’y arrêter : vous ne...

After reading a lot of positive reviews we decided to eat here and were quite disappointed. The welcome was nice and evident that the owner has lots of social contact with their clients. The food itself was overall disappointing. 4 different dishes with flavourless meats and sauces that really were not impressive.
