La Main à la Pâte - Restaurant à Castellane — Restaurant in Castellane

Looking for vegetarian food in the region is a bit of a challenge. We were therefore enthusiastic to see 5 options (3 pizzas, mushroom risotto and gnocchi) on the menu exhibited on the terrace. The latter was very full but we were lucky enough to get a table though not right away . The waiter insisted that the free table was already booked although it had no sign saying so. After checking it was indeed free. We had our eye on the mixed platter (charcuterie, cheese, mixed vegetables) and asked whether we could get that but changing the meat for cheese. They had no time for that although it would only take seconds. For the rest the bill arrived as soon as we had done eating - not requested yet. The gnocchi were rather decent - no regrets there, but came with a tiny basket of bread that would have been OK for 1-2 people but not for a table of four. The conclusion on my side: for vegetarians like us the Main à la pâte is the least bad option in a meat and fish focussed area....

We dined twice at this restaurant. The first occasion was at the evening. We both ordered pizzas, which were perfect. The second time was at noon. We ordered the simplest pizza with , extra mushrooms on which an extra of only 1 euro was charged. In addition we ate the local fish soup which was a real delight. The place is always packed, but it is big and has a lot of tables so we didn't have to wait. The service is top notch, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are at Castellan,...

I really don't know what to say here, because everything was excellent. The food was very good and came pretty fast. We had the camembert as an entree and afterwards we had 2 pizzas. The terasse was full, but the service was fast, and very friendly. The toilet was also very clean.

I really habe nothing else to say. We had an amazing calm evening...
