Lard De Vivre — Restaurant in Clermont-Ferrand

On the search for a place to dine, I stumbled upon this stylish place. Being quite early, I managed to get one of the few free tables (reservation recommended!) and ordered the menu with 3 small tapas-style dishes plus side dish and dessert. The Argentinian white wine was refreshing, smelled delicious and went well with the ceviche. But the highlights were certainly the "morceau du 'Cornicero'" - beef in my case -, the caponata side dish and the gazpacho. The quality and taste of the food and the great background music were only topped by the quality of service by the friendly waitress and her excellent recommendation for the red wine I had with the beef. In case you're not at the edge of starvation, I recommend to replace the dessert with a coffee or digestif as the menu is quite substantial and definitely worth every cent. Nice place to eat Latin style foods. Imagine tapas but in bigger portions. The menu on a weeknight or weekend is 28€. Lots of choices and very nicely presented. It was tasty but not up to my expectations when compared to Lard et La Manière. I adored the pluma of Iberian pig (which is the dish I loved at lard et la manière). If you’re a meat lover, this place is perfect for you! They have the most delicious meat I had in Clermont-Ferrand. Both beef and pork tastes extremely delicious, juicy and of high quality, perfectly seasoned. The two kinds of sauces also go very well with the meats.
