We were here on a Thursday afternoon during the Christmas market season and managed to get seated immediately (lucky us! The tea room is not very large).
We waited a while to get served, but the staff seemed attentive and nice. One of the waitresses accompanied me and gave me an overview of all the seasonal tarts and desserts they had that day.
I ended up choosing a chocolate tart and a hot chocolate (it's the milky, not dense type of hot chocolate). My boyfriend got a floral tea that was served in a beautiful tea set, and there were around 3-4 small cups of tea. The chocolate tart was delicious and larger than I expected! We were given two forks to share :) Prices are definitely high, but I think it's worth it for the experience!
The decor of the place is very cute, and it has a traditional english "tea-room" vibe. I loved to see some people bringing books and peacefully reading!
A couple of things to keep in mind: if you are a group of 4 or more, it might be difficult to find seats... so maybe call ahead? If you have any motor disability it might be difficult to get seated, as most seats are upstairs, and there seems to be only a large table downstairs (my bad if I'm wrong). Again, maybe it's better to call ahead! If you have any nut allergy, the choice might be quite limited: most of the cookies and the tarts seem to be decorated with nuts (pecans,...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant earlier this week and were told that it was full at the time. Understanding the situation, we asked if we could wait outside until a spot became available or if we could make a reservation for later. The staff assured us that reservations were unnecessary for this restaurant and that we would be welcomed if we waited outside.
After waiting for like 20 minutes, during which we saw groups leaving, no one came to inform us of an available table. We decided to go back inside to ask. A different staff member then told us there was no space. When I pointed out three empty tables upstairs, she claimed they were reserved. This directly contradicted what her colleague had told us earlier — that the restaurant doesn’t take reservations.
Her response was dismissive; she turned her back and walked away, showing no care for us as customers. The lack of communication and staff training was frustrating. Unfortunately, this experience was a waste of time and we won’t...
Read moreWe sat down at the place and ordered cakes and coffee. My grandmother accidentally put salt instead of sugar in her coffee and when she told about it to the waitress she slammed the sugar pot on our table and told us if we want another coffee we have to pay for it. Understandable of course, but could have told us it nicer. We haven't thought about it and paid for another cup, but when it was served the waiter told us he heard the story about the salt, so apparently they were laughing at us behind our backs. Okay. Then when we went to pay the waitress, without looking us in the eyes, started talking trash about us to the other waiters in french thinking we couldn't understand. Anyone who treats someone like that for a simple mistake deserves no costumers, and I won't be surprised if they deny this like they do with every other comment. I am waiting to see what they are going to make up to make themselves...
