Immediately because of our party size we got rejected stating that there is no room. I proceeded to go inside, the one large table was taken but all other tables empty! All the other tables are open and we where so hungry I had no issue separating the group in two tables to make it work. Before saying no so quickly maybe offer alternatives?? Anyway, the wait was very long for the flammkuchen and it was nothing impressing. One was pretty burnt as well. Service was not the best, very very slow and after requesting things such as utensils, it was not brought immediately so wait after wait. Was glad to get out to be honest. I don’t recommend.
Edit to add based off of greedy remark: it’s very disturbing to hear that a group is considered large for four adults and three kids 😳 what if two groups of two ppl with kiddos arrive, you accept one and reject the other?? Maybe you should not have the amount of tables that you do if your clearly unable to accommodate that amount? As far as the food, we still waited patiently and it was mediocre, don’t blame people who are your guests for the restaurants...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 7pm. Before that we called and asked if we can come early (6pm) and they said ok. We arrived at 5:55, being told we need to wait 5 minutes. At about 6:15, seeing a round table behind empty since we arrived there, i asked if we can sit there. They said no it is a large table for 6 people, adding we probably will wait for another 30 min until a table of 4 leaves. They asked us to wait in a bistro (very small table, and only 2 high chairs). I wanted to speak with the owner who was already in there. He also said the same, we are 4 we can’t sit to the table of 6. I argued then why they said ok for coming early, then he was very angry and said “ok! Goodbye!” gesturing his hands showing the door. It was a very rude tone and manner, and even in a VERY CROWDED saturday evening, knowing we’re not gonna be able to find another place, with a peace of mind we left - we wouldn’t want to spend a cent in...
Read moreI personally liked it very much. As we were looking for a dinner option in the overcrowded Colmar city center - we did not reserve anything - we stopped here and got a very nice table indoor. There are a few outdoor seats but only for couples as it seemed and not for families. But it was quite good as we were close to the toys cupboard. So the kids had something to play and they were happy; not as usual as it seems. The menu is tidy and the typical tarts from Alsace beside salads are served. So we took both of them and got rewarded with a very tasteful and delicious choice. Lucky faces. The wine option was a Pinot Gris from a local winery. As dessert we had Munster cheese. All in all a wonderful evening. The service was very nice, too. In terms of price it is a moderate alternative to the Michelin restaurants close. Also a very good option to all the crowded locations around in La Petite Venise....
