Edgar Gastronomique Burgers — Restaurant in Grasse

I guess I'd give 2.5 stars if it was possible. There are some pros and cons to be sure.

The good...

Location is superb. On the south side of the CAP3000 shopping mall right on the beach. You couldn't ask for a better view and there is a large area for outdoor seating. Atmosphere inside is also good. Only a small selection of beers but I had the Grimbergen White (a wheat beer) and it was incredible. Best beer of my trip. Waitstaff were prompt and pleasant.

The bad...

Given the name of the restaurant I was quite excited to try one of their burgers. I was there for lunch and although the double cheeseburger was enticing I decided to go with the bacon cheeseburger. Frankly it was not delicious. I was not asked how I wanted it prepared and when the burger arrived it was pink/red inside. I cannot conceive how ground beef in this manner is appealing to anyone. Given the similar comments I see in other reviews I am disappointed the restaurant hasn't figured out by now you should ask people about this. On top of that I requested no toppings yet the burger arrived with still pickles and some kind of sauce (mayonnaise?) on it. Paired with an untoasted bun this is probably in my bottom 5 worst burger experiences of my life. Needless to say, I did not finish it. Fries were good. We went here last Sunday for lunch and sat at the table inside next to the wall, near the bar. Underneath the table had many crumbs so I am assuming no one cleaned the night before and THERE WERE COCKROACHES on the wall! I was able to take this photo with a small cockroach but there were bigger ones as we sat there. We reported it to the staff so they gave us a discount (we were billed 2 out of 3 dishes instead). We paid however thinking about it, we shouldn't have. They said that they are next to the mall's bins so they have cockroaches which is unacceptable. Next the food : my babyback ribs arrived cold and has a funny taste, my daughter's chicken nuggets from the "menu enfant" was undercooked and my husband's burger plate (3 mini burgers in a plate) tasted so bad! I have to put a star to leave a review but definitely this place does not deserve any star....

Que dire… On arrive à 13h15, le restaurant est rempli en terrasse mais quasiment vide à l’intérieur. Une hôtesse nous place et nous donne les menus. On choisit, au bout de 10 min on appelle la serveuse pour qu’elle nous prenne notre commande, elle nous fait oui de la tête mais ne vient que 10 min après pour nous annoncer qu’ils ont trop de monde, qu’ils ont une table de 20 en préparation et qu’elle ne peut que prendre notre commande de boisson et qu’elle prendra nos commandes plus tard… une première ! Pour nous faire patienter, elle nous propose des vulgaires cacahuètes… je lui dis qu’elle peut au moins prendre nos commandes et les lancer quand le chef pourra mais au moins elle est prise et on ne perd pas de temps. mais non ! Un serveur revient peu de temps après avec nos boissons. Mon amie avait commander une margarita, et le gout du citron introuvable et hyper chargé en téquila.. imbuvable ! si elle avait voulu voir que de la téquila, elle aurait pris un shot directement !! 20 min, notre serveuse vient prendre nos commandes. Et là on se rend compte que des personnes arrivées après nous sont servies bien avant nous… on commence à bouillonner ! Au bout de 20 min encore (ça fait déjà 1h qu’on est là !) j’ai tellement faim et je suis hypoglycémique que je fais un malaise ! Heureusement que mon amie va chercher un torchon mouillé, le personnel lui n’en a rien a foutre !!! une serveuse apporte les plats, moi dans les vapes et s’en fout royale !!! Comment vous dire qu’on en revient pas… la serveuse se trompe avec mon plat. elle me ramène le mien enfin ! il est 14h25 on peut passer à table ! La viande a un gout bizarre et on est dégoutés.. un simple « excusez-nous » de la serveuse.. Au moment de payer, on en réfère à la personne qui nous encaisse. des excuses comme quoi deux personnes manquent à l’appel et c’est tout ! vous trouvez ça normal ?! Bref, dégoutée alors que j’avais eu une première expérience réussie chez vous et bien c’est terminée ! plus jamais ! Si vous aviez trop de monde et pas assez de personnel, prévenez ceux qui passent la porte de votre restaurant avant qu’ils ne prennent place et soient déçus ! ça vous éviterait un mauvais commentaire ! Même pas un geste commercial rien ! Si vous ne savez pas gérer une table de 20 n’ouvrez pas un si grand...
