Le Bistrot de la plage — Restaurant in Grasse

We had high hopes for this place given the reviews. And really fancied hearty bistro food, with a beautiful sea view. Unfortunately the meals were really disappointing. The tuna niçoise salad had barely a tablespoon of tuna in it and the mussels were tiny, albeit we are out of season. But the icing on the cake for us was the shockingly poor service. Our waiter came across as grumpy and tired, and voiced to a colleague whilst serving us, how he couldn’t wait to finish working. We will not be back, nor can we recommend. There were positives-the menu enfant was a decent portion of fish goujons, the moules marnière sauce was delicious and the setting is gorgeous. Such a shame...

Absolutely fantastic family owned restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff (very fluent English speaking too), great music... but most importantly brilliant/tasty food!

This place is such a great find... I'm writing this after finishing our 3rd visit. We love Le Bistrot de la plage!!!

Got takeaway pizza the first time... dined in the 2nd time (pizza again), escargot (my first time, they were yum) and fish pasta all very nice... 3rd time spag bolognese and a beautiful chicken salad (great massive portion).

Highly recommend if you're feeling hungry and are after a nice family...

I don't go out to eat very much. The last place I went to eat was a chain and the staff seemed a little "dead inside". So coming to "Le Bistrot de la plage" and meeting the pleasant staff certainly made a difference to the experience! They were friendly, good with children, and they were happy to answer all our questions about the food. Food itself was good. Only one less star in my rating because my husband said his pizza base was a little undercooked, but the toppings were generous!
