Pub Lutèce Brasserie — Restaurant in La Rochelle

AVOID! Decided to give this restaurant a go while passing during a walk through La Rochelle, mainly because there were a lot of other diners outside and the atmosphere seemed good. We got a table for 3 outside and ordered a savoury crepe, a cheeseburger and a chicken dish. The food was severely disappointing- the chips that came with the meals were lukewarm upon serving, bland and seemed like they were reheated. A “salad” also came with each meal, but it was simply a few pieces of lettuce with a sour dressing, no other vegetable in sight. The cheeseburger and savoury crepe were both mediocre- the cheeseburgers bun was a bit burnt, and the crepe was bland. The chicken dish was also underwhelming. The crème sauce accompanying the chicken was greasy and lacking in flavour, and the chicken itself, like the chips, seemed like it had been cooked hours earlier and then reheated before serving. Given that the price of the chicken dish is €14.90, this quality is appalling. Service wasn’t the best either- it was a half hour wait for our food and our waitress was inattentive, slamming the dishes on the table upon the arrival of our food and rushing us to leave before we had fully finished eating. The food was ok. Nothing special. The cocktails were good and the kids liked the mocktails, which were nicely presented. However, the service was awful. We sat outside and had to wait a long time to order drinks, then wait again to order food. It was a busy night, but there were lots of staff working. The people on tables near us had the same issue. All food took a long time to come over 45 mins after ordering. The table to our left had the wrong food delivered. Again, we had to wait a long time to ask for the bill, eventually I went to the bar to pay. Alot of frustrated customers were there on the same night. Disappointing. Would...

Probablement le pire restaurant de ma vie ! Passez votre chemin pour ne pas vous faire avoir !

Après une attente interminable (30 minutes rien que pour passer la commande) avec un serveur plus que désagréable qui a tout fait pour retarder la prise de commande et encore une heure d'attente supplémentaire... Vous vous dites au moins que vous allez enfin pouvoir manger... Oui mais.... Si vous aimez les pizzas à priori surgelées, sans goût avec un surplus de crème fraîche pour cacher la supercherie , allez-y Si vous aimez les Burgers avec un steak haché cramé alors qu'il était demandé saignant, allez-y (point spécial pour la sauce immonde) Si vous aimez la salade en sachet avec des tomates molles et flasques, une boule mozarella 1er prix avec des crudités chaudes et œufs froids car probablement restés longtemps sur le comptoir, allez y aussi !

Enfin si vous aimez vous faire traiter de menteur par la patronne qui n'accepte pas une seule critique de sa cuisine catastrophique (j'ai pas écrit gastronomique), qui refuse tout geste commercial (pardon j'ai eu 50 centimes) et la fille de la patronne qui se dandine derrière sa mère en insistant que si ce n'était pas bon ils ne seraient pas alors ouvert depuis 1990 (en même temps elle n'était pas née)... Vous avez trouvé alors le Restaurant à faire ! C'est bien la première fois que je m'énerve dans un restaurant...

Et nous avons eu l'honneur d'être considérés comme les pires clients de la saison (à la lecture des commentaires nous sommes pourtant loin d'être les seuls....).

Bref si vous souhaitez attendre (longtemps), échanger avec un serveur arrogant, attendre encore, une patronne hors sol et sa marionnette de fille, foncez ! Attrape touristes par excellence, fuyez !!!

Ces restaurants ne cherchent pas à fidéliser mais à faire du chiffre sur le dos des gens. Ils font clairement du mal à la profession...
