If ever in La Rochelle, book the table to dine in! Absolute must visit to experience high quality french cuisine with flavourful dishes to taste! The fish dish with fennel cooked two ways was unbelievably good! Explosion of flavour, pickled fennel with mint, dill and roasted hazelnuts are complimented with juicy grilled fish, roasted soft smoky fennel and sweet caramelised orange marmalade, every bite of that dish was divine. Panna cotta with rhubarb and raspberry compote plus gin granita was the best desert i’ve ever eaten! Soft wobbly vanilla panna cotta with perfect texture that just melts in your mouth complimented with sour rhubarb compote, sweet fresh raspberries and herbal gin granita topped with micro shiso herbs that add liquorice lemony flavour. Ordered a nice selection of starters and mains and whilst the quality of the produce was good, the flavours and seasoning fell a little short. Everything felt slightly underseasoned and some of the combinations didn't stand out enough. I'm not saying it was bad it just needed a little more to it. It's going to sound harsh but I would like to be honest. The veal was quiet bland, the oysters could have done with some garnish or pickled veg, the pork belly was a nicely seasoned on the top crust but the rest of it was quiet dull - alongwith this the the eggplant purree and roasted eggplant was also lacking any seasoning.
