Bistro des Fleurs — Restaurant in Les Andelys

This meal was absolutely flawless. We were lucky to get a walk in as we came just after the restaurant opened but many people were turned away after. The atmosphere was brilliant, busy but not too loud allowing it to be a place you can stay and really enjoy your meal. The perfect authentic feel.

We had the buffalo Mozerella and tomato as well as the oysters to start. Both were fresh and delicious. For mains we both had the steak in a peppercorn/ mushroom sauce which was absolutely scrumptious. Both the steak and frites were cooked to perfection and the sauce was a perfect balance of rich and creamy. For pudding we had the cherry pavlova which was a wonderful balance of sweet and tart. We found all of the food was excellent and well priced especially for being so fresh.

To go alongside our dishes we had the house rose and red which were great and so well priced at around €3.50-4.50.

Very well executed food in a charming old space. The service is very personal, warm and efficient. Started with great oysters, went on to a beet and goat cheese timbale that was very well balanced and a sautéed squid appetizer with a spicy, tart sauce that was perfect. We went on to have a moist fleshed, crisp skinned duck confit and a large portion of pan-sautéed skate wing with capers and a touch of balsamic. Huge selection of wines by the glass - about 40 or 50! This restaurant is a hidden gem! Located in a small street, it offers a nice typical French atmosphere along with a simple choice but quality oriented meals. All was great, food quality, wines, beer (local Norman beer available). The owner is very knowledgeable when it comes to wines and with a simple talk on your favorite tastes will match the wine with your meal. I will definitely go back to...
