Awful place. Bad unedible overpriced food with a side of deep fried kitchen cloth on your fries. Don't go there. Across the road there is a nicer, cheaper and better restaurant with a better atmosphere and less aggro. The waiter was very nice Avoid the crevette gris croquette (2 croquette for 12 euros where down the road 3 for 6, better fresher and tastier), the Welsh dy Pirate was a slice of bread, a slice of Ham and cheese, no season, no mustard. I wanted some salt and pepper but the waiter was too busy flavourless and just greasy. Mussels Mariniere with cream came without cream or sauce, just loads of celary. again no seasoning. The fries we were given were "to share" meaning as small portion. I found a deep fried bit of kitchen sponge in the fries which made my stomach churn. Avoid the restaurant in general. We had to stop in another place to eat after. Taking profit from tourists on the Rugby World Cup who are looking for a traditional place. Sad We're coming back on the 7th of October as a large group and this is a place that I will recommend to avoid. Having done France for the last three weeks and eating out every day this was the worse...
Read moreA very disappointing experience overall which is a shame as it started well. The restaurant has a nice vibe and we had a lovely friendly waitress, and the entrees were good. Sadly my main course of carbonade flamande was entirely inedible - 6 lumps of bone and gristle in a watery sauce which was lacking in any depth of flavour. The waitress was very apologetic and said I could have a reduction in the bill which I felt was fair and I would have been happy with. Then the owner or head waitress (?) came over and and told me I should have said something earlier and offered to bring me more, which I declined, then offered to give me some more to takeaway, as I’m on holiday and staying in a hotel this was not feasible. When my husband went to pay he was surprised to see it still on the bill and was told I could have it re cooked ( this is a slow cooked dish shouldn’t have inedible lumps of gristle in to begin with). Eventually and reluctantly she removed it from the bill but it made the situation unpleasant and spoilt an otherwise...
Read moreThis was my first time visit to Lille and this was the first restaurant to visit in this town.
We were walking down this road Rue de Gand looking for a restaurant for lunch on Sunday around 2.30pm. Most places were full/closed.
They had space and welcomed us nicely, + 1 point The menu was all in French, but it was simple enough to understand, + 1 point I have two children and we ordered muscle, they separated it to two smaller size for the same price! + 1 point My husband ordered horse tartar which was great! + 1 point I ordered the seafood tasted croquettes which was not my taste, but my son (4yrs) liked it. The staffs were nice and kind, both spoke English + 1 point
The atmosphere in the restaurant was good, not loud, not cold, small but spacious enough.
Overall, I had very good experience in this restaurant. I would visit again if I visit...
