CHOPSTICKS & CO. — Restaurant in Lille

I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews (this is my first) but a month after eating here the experience has stayed with me and I'm a bit surprised to see so many positive comments. Maybe I chose badly and should have had the ramen but the caramel chicken was dry and tasteless, unpleasant even. I ended up only eating a few mouthfuls and leaving the rest of my plate and I've never ever done this. The people are friendly enough hence the decent service rating but this wasn't a great experience from a food point of view. Before I get criticised by the management for not having enough experience of Asian food I have travelled extensively through Asia and South East Asia and have eaten great Asian food in many of the major European cities. But I'm also aware that this is a station takeaway and I am used to eating decent simple food in these kinds of places. This just totally missed on taste and texture for me. Sorry for...

We visited Lille for a long weekend for a Pokemon event and called in here the day we arrived. It is not the same as the uk chopsticks but the good choice of meals seemed appealing. Unfortunately we had not brushed up on our french so we tried to order the best we could when the lovely gentleman realised and spoke English to assist us with our order. We liked the meal so much we called in again on the Monday before getting the Eurostar home where again the food and service we received exceeded expectations. A big thank you to the man working Monday 23rd lunchtime. He was really friendly and helped us order and spoke about his visits to the uk where he lived for a while. Food was again excellent and good value for money, it’s not a high end restaurant it’s an eat in/takeaway attached to a train station. We would definitely visit here again if we return next...

Bonjour, J’ai eu l’occasion de venir 2 fois goûter vos ramens.

La première fois j’étais seule et j’avais choisi ceux au canard. Très bon, frais et avec de bonnes cuissons je les ai trouvés à mon goût. Le bouillon était délicieux. J’avais pu aussi profiter de l’offre concernant la boisson gratuite le midi même si il était 14h05/10 environ. Aujourd’hui, accompagnée d’une amie à qui je voulais faire découvrir le restaurant j’ai choisi gambas. Bien qu’un peu difficile à décortiquer car le plat était chaud, ce n’était qu’un léger mauvais moment à passer avant de déguster mon plat que j’ai de nouveau trouvé très très bon. Mon amie a goûté ceux au poulet et à elle aussi adoré. Nous avons de plus, pris 2 gyozas au poulet. Ils étaient bons bien que nous ayons goûté meilleur (mais bon comme on dit : « il y a toujours meilleur ailleurs ») + la sauce était bonne aussi.

Le personnel est toujours très accueillant, souriant et sympathique. Le rapport qualité/prix est très satisfaisant. Nous n’avons eu aucun mal à rentabiliser notre dépense car les bols sont parfaitement bien remplis. Cela se sent que c’est du fait maison et non du tout réchauffé.

Je reviendrais pour goûter les autres plats proposés, en espérant être toujours aussi bien accueillie, servie, satisfaite et rassasiée.
