A very pretty restaurant with a unique interior. However the atmosphere was overcrowded, hot and stuffy. Our 2 person table was situated next to the bar and our table was constantly disturbed by customers and staff squeezing past. We were provided with an English menu. For starters we ordered Cocqilles St Jaques (scallops) and a cheese quiche. The scallops are an expensive starter and were described on the English menu as served in shells. However they arrived served in a large amount of cheese based sauce and not in shells! Without a side of bread this dish is impossible to eat and rather disappointing for how much you pay for it. The quiche base was soggy and also disappointing. After starters we were returned our used cutlery for use with our mains, very strange and rather unpleasant! For main we ordered Flemish beef stew and local sausage. Both had unique flavours and were enjoyable to eat. For desert we shared a mixed platter of chocolate cake, crème brulee and violet ice cream. We were looking for the typical local dish, the Welsh and it was quite complicated so we ended up in here by chance, but we were not disappointed.
The stuff were a bit slow because we did wait a bit to order but they were really friendly so it was not such a big deal.
The Welsh was just amazing, but we started sharing some rilletes (really good) and some saucisson (which was not what i had in mind and didnt really enjoyed it). Shame the bread was not superb, but the main was really really good, totally worth it, enjoyed it very much. Seemed and tasted a bit like the Portuguese Francesinha.
The distribution of the place was not that nice, I think they shall better remove a table or two, because we were in the corner close to the window and we could barely move or go to the toilet, i think they shall fix that because we all thought the same way.

I went there with a friend and we got there at 7:30. I'm hoping that the food I had ordered (Carbonade Flamande) was not hot becuase the kitchen had not yet awoken. 🤷🏽♀️ The Carbonade was not good. And it wasn't hot. I what I don't understand about a restaurant is that even if it is early in the service, how can the food be served cold?
The dessert was alright. Don't think it was prepared in the restaurant.
As I sat there and had the meal, I watched that everyone else seemed to love what they had and plates went back empty. Mine went back half full, and I HATE wasting food!
Also, we had to wait for everything- table to be cleared after the meal, ordering dessert and paying the bill.
The restaurant was full to it's capacity and there were only two (seemingly exhausted, yet happy) servers.
