Itsy Bitsy — Restaurant in Lille

We visited Itsy Bitsy during our weekend in Lille. My partner is vegan and gluten free so we were looking for a good place where she could eat something in "meaty" France. We were welcomed in by a female front of house who found a table for us even though we didn't have a reservation. The ambience of the place was good, relaxing lighting and well thought out decor. I had the cucumber gazpacho and my partner had the courgette. Flavours in both dishes were excellent. Nothing was overpowering and the flavours came through well individually as a dish. I personally don’t think the food was that great but my vegan friend loved hers 🤷‍♀️We both started with some dumplings, which were served very hot. For some reason that was a turnoff for me (versus room temperature). Anyway the sauce that accompanied it was tasteless so I barely ate the dish. My main of roasted sweet potatoes was plentiful and charred nicely but I get a bit gaggy with too much SP for some reason. That had a nice sauce with it. I saved half for takeaway. I had lunch here, and the place is very cozy. The staff is attentive and has a decent lunch menu. I had a risotto with baked vegetables. The veggies were very tasty, but the risotto itself could have had some more taste. For dessert I had some brownies with popcorn on the side. It was all good, but the sauce was a bit malplaced, didn't taste much, and the brownies could have been a bit fudgier and with a bit more flavor.
