Amoretto — Restaurant in Lisieux

Our bnb host suggested this restaurant to us which is a bit away from the city center. Since we were craving italian food, we went ahead and gave it a shot!

At first the place looks not like much from outside but the interiors are very chill and homey, perfect for a quaint family dinner! 💖 The place was buzzling with people during lunch time but we were served on time just the same! The staff were attentive and was very accommodating.

Bread and grated parmesan were served before the meal. There was a small aperitif of little pretzels too.

We had tagliatelle aux Gambas and Pave de Saumon au pesto. I have to say, for €17, the Tagliatelle was definitely worth it! There were 5 big shrimps served with the pasta. They were fresh and cooked to perfection! Pre peeled and easy to eat, and it was very tender and juicy! I definitely recommend this dish 💖

For the Saumon, if i have to be honest, it sadly didn't work for me. I struggled to like the combination of pesto sauce with Salmon. I'm usually use to having it plain or with something creamy or milky so the tomato and pesto ensemble felt a little flat for me. Despite this, it was an ok dish, i might steer away from it away next time and try other dishes as I am sure they would be delicious!

A little bonus point: the washroom was SPOTLESS. I don't think ive ever seen the toilets that clean in a restaurant ever since i moved to France haha 💖

We had a lovely evening here last night. The food is fabulous, freshly made including the pasta which is made on the premises. Unctuous burrata and one of the best lasagnes we've tasted. Beers and wine were also wonderful. All served by Mayline who was welcoming, engaging, attentive throughout and clearly proud of the restaurant and the food she served. Even though it's just outside the centre of town, it was well frequented and had a great atmosphere. Will definitely come back when next...

A very warm reception from the staff, and we were seated right away at a cozy table. The smell of pizza was so intoxicating I quickly changed my mind from ordering pasta to pizza. I’m sure the pasta would’ve been delicious but I am so pleased with the amazing pizza Normande I was served. The tomato/basil/mozza salad to start was excellent, as was my husband’s Isabella pizza.
