NO EXAGGERATION: THE ABSOLUTE WORST - never in 52 years of existence have I ever experienced a waiter try to physically ATTACK a customer in a restaurant. The customer in question was justified to be disgruntled as, like us, they'd waited well over an hour to be served their meal. In the meantime, staff were haughty, dismissive and rude - behaving as if everything they did was a horrible chore and a huge favour to their customers. The customer that was threatened wasn't even vaguely loud or aggressive himself, so the waiter had zero provocation for becoming violently angry and physically menacing him. If I worked in that restaurant (as I have worked in restaurants in the past) I would have made my co-worker leave the scene immediately and cool off - he should not be permitted to work with the public.
We very shocked and alarmed, particularly with our two youngest children present. The staff were only very grudgingly apologetic after we had paid a lot for the very little we had received in all that time of waiting: drinks and a cold starter. Took a gamble with La Bisquine. It was fine. I think you truly have to search harder to find an experience different to all the other restaurants in Honfleur. They are all much of a muchness with pretty much identical menus catering for the tourist.
Herbert was charming and was the most engaging person weâd had in hospitality across our stay.
The same could not be said for his sidekick who had a face like a wet weekend and was so over the whole thing couldnât raise even a fake smile as we attempted to hand over money.
Look love, I get it. It had no doubt been a long day and there had probably been some right idiot customers, but we werenât. Weâd had a pleasant meal. Bit of banter with Herb and wanted to settle the bill.
To blatantly ignore us is just not on.
You are obviously miserable in your work. Life is short. Go and find something you enjoy.

Un aprĂšs-midi vers 15h nous souhaitons « dĂ©jeuner » tablĂ© de 7 dont un bĂ©bĂ©. Nous attendons 10 bonne minutes devant lâĂ©tablissement puis nous entrons car personne nâest venu Ă notre rencontre. LĂ une serveuse (blonde) nous adresse la parole pour nous demander combien nous sommes de la elle balance a une autre serveuse « bah je crois quâil nây a pas de place ou sinon dĂ©barrasse les gens lĂ bas comme ça ils vont voir quâil faut partir » cet accueil dĂ©jĂ nous a un peu interloquĂ© mais bref passons.. InstallĂ© nous passons commande, nous sommes Ă lâintĂ©rieur la serveuse envoie des plats en terrasse une frite tombe, elle ĂŽte son masque (qui soit dit en passant nâĂ©tais que sous son nez et pas sur) puis mange la frite tombĂ© de lâassiette. Notre table donne sur lâendroit oĂč arrive les plats (le propre) et oĂč il doivent ĂȘtre remis (le sale). Une poubelle poser juste lĂ assez imposante une des serveuses passes tente de lâenlever pour la mettre dehors nây arrivant pas Le serveur se propose de lâenlever mais il dĂ©pose dâautre plats en terrasse avant; elle lâarrĂȘte et lui tend des cuillĂšres et non pas par le manche (ses mains non lavĂ©s qui Ă©taient en contact avec une poubelle 2 min avant), il revient touche cette mĂȘme poubelle pour y jeter quelques papier. Une autre serveuse (brune) jette elle aussi une serviette en touchant le sac poubelle. AUCUN LAVAGE DE MAIN ! de la part de ses trois employĂ©s !!!! Je leur fait donc la remarque de nous prĂ©venir quand nos plats arrivent que je les rĂ©ceptionne car aucuns dâeux ne sâest lavĂ© les mains mais ont tous touchĂ© la poubelle ! Au loin nous entendons la blonde « bah quâils dĂ©gagent » ce que nous avons fait !! Nous avions eu que les boissons câest donc cela que nous avions voulu rĂ©gler et la les trois serveurs ont voulu nous faire payer lâensemble des plats nous avons refusĂ©, le ou la responsable a Ă©tĂ© appelĂ© nous stipulant que nous devions rĂ©gler. Au final la blonde a appelĂ© la police car nous avons refusĂ© de rĂ©gler quelques choses que nous nâavions pas consommĂ©, le policier que jâai eu au tĂ©lĂ©phone la connaissait sĂ»rement car il ne voulait mĂȘme pas Ă©couter mes explications jusquâĂ la fin !
