Well, we saw some wonderful reviews online for this place and went. But unfortunately, we were disappointed... The omelettes and salads were the only good things in this place.... AND IT'S CALLED A PATISSERIE! For a patisserie, they really do not have a lot of choice for desserts and take your money for the Gourmand formules. The service was absolutely appalling... We ordered 3 teas and 2 coffees, and one of them was completely forgotten! Nothing came at the same time, meaning some of us were finished before others had their food and drink! We were waiting for our food for a really really long time, so was another family sitting next to us. THEY HAD FINISHED THEIR DRINKS BEFORE THEIR FOOD ARRIVED and they weren't appetizers!

Now really, take this piece of advice, even though some of your food is good, GOOD SERVICE is essential and being called a Patisserie, I suggest you take a few months to focus...

What a shame! I wouldn’t usually complain but the service was appalling at this institute. The service of the staff completely ruined our experience at this cafe.

We were left waiting for over 30 minutes to order, serving people around us but not taking our order when we were in clear visible sight. Once ordered, one of the latte’s and water was not brought over. Struggling to grab the attention of the waitresses we proceeded to explain one of the coffees was left off the order and notified a member of staff, yet still they didn’t manage to make the coffee somehow. The younger girls had a rude aggressive manner of bring and taking away the plates, slamming them down on the tables. No smiles, no manners. The younger two girls are some of the rudest waitresses I have come across. Avoid this cafe at all costs! It’s a tourist money making trap so many more lovely friendly places to eat...

When we saw this place, my son and I both said, "This makes me think of Chocolat!" (the Movie) BEAUTIFUL window displays of chocolate, marzipan, pastries, macaroons, etc., etc., etc. But don't let all the sweets fool you into thinking you can't get a meal there. They have great omelettes, great coffee, wonderful hot chocolate and the bread, well, it's fresh! We ate there three times. The owner showed us the pictures of her parents, who opened the shop in 1915. I was there with my 89 yr old mother and my son. Her daughter also works there. I loved the pottery they served the water in and asked her where I could get some. She gave me the name of the place in Monnaie and then called the place to make sure they were open. When we went back the second time, she greeted my mom with a hug and a kiss. We went back...

As you reach the square.. go no further, and enter this charming, hospitable cafĂ©. Now if you can get by the displays of chocolate and pastries.. do so, but only for now. Lunch is the total ‘experience française’. In addition to the Sausage in Pastry, we had the Quiche Lorraine - you never had better! And the CafĂ© Gourmand.. coffee (all French Press) and delightful pastry desserts.. the Total Experience. Now, buy your pastries and chocolates on the way out! You’ll see the Bigot bags of goodies everywhere. This completes if not highlights, your trip to Amboise.

This is an old chocolatier and PĂątisserie on the main street below ChĂąteau Amboise. They have two indoor seating sections as well as outdoor tables as well. We stopped here recently and were served good cups of hot chocolate and shared a slice of comte tart. Everything was fine however more enjoyed was the Pave Royal speciality tart which we took home and enjoyed over the next couple of days at our accommodation and while out sightseeing. It was packaged nicely and tasted rather nice.

It's The place where to have a delicious breakfast when u stay the night at Amboise!! Everything is just fresh and prepared with the obvious passion that covers this beautiful 100 years old family bakery and pastry. We loved the croissant, pain au chocolat, the strawberry millefeuilles and the cheese comté tart. As for the drinks, delicious fresh orange juice, cappuccino and café latte!! The place is authentic and beautifully maintained, the staff are just adorable!! Highly recommend!
