Well, we saw some wonderful reviews online for this place and went. But unfortunately, we were disappointed... The omelettes and salads were the only good things in this place.... AND IT'S CALLED A PATISSERIE! For a patisserie, they really do not have a lot of choice for desserts and take your money for the Gourmand formules. The service was absolutely appalling... We ordered 3 teas and 2 coffees, and one of them was completely forgotten! Nothing came at the same time, meaning some of us were finished before others had their food and drink! We were waiting for our food for a really really long time, so was another family sitting next to us. THEY HAD FINISHED THEIR DRINKS BEFORE THEIR FOOD ARRIVED and they weren't appetizers!
Now really, take this piece of advice, even though some of your food is good, GOOD SERVICE is essential and being called a Patisserie, I suggest you take a few months to focus...
Read moreWhat a shame! I wouldnât usually complain but the service was appalling at this institute. The service of the staff completely ruined our experience at this cafe.
We were left waiting for over 30 minutes to order, serving people around us but not taking our order when we were in clear visible sight. Once ordered, one of the latteâs and water was not brought over. Struggling to grab the attention of the waitresses we proceeded to explain one of the coffees was left off the order and notified a member of staff, yet still they didnât manage to make the coffee somehow. The younger girls had a rude aggressive manner of bring and taking away the plates, slamming them down on the tables. No smiles, no manners. The younger two girls are some of the rudest waitresses I have come across. Avoid this cafe at all costs! Itâs a tourist money making trap so many more lovely friendly places to eat...
Read moreWhen we saw this place, my son and I both said, "This makes me think of Chocolat!" (the Movie) BEAUTIFUL window displays of chocolate, marzipan, pastries, macaroons, etc., etc., etc. But don't let all the sweets fool you into thinking you can't get a meal there. They have great omelettes, great coffee, wonderful hot chocolate and the bread, well, it's fresh! We ate there three times. The owner showed us the pictures of her parents, who opened the shop in 1915. I was there with my 89 yr old mother and my son. Her daughter also works there. I loved the pottery they served the water in and asked her where I could get some. She gave me the name of the place in Monnaie and then called the place to make sure they were open. When we went back the second time, she greeted my mom with a hug and a kiss. We went back...
