My sister and I went for a casual lunch at the time they opened. We had a very friendly server who took care of us right away. We decided to eat inside and placed our order for drinks and appetizers. The menu had a good variety of pizzas, but only two vegetarian options. There was also no “make your own” option, so I thought I would try to modify a different pizza by replacing the meat with a vegetable, if they were able to. I asked our server if this was possible and he said it would be no problem, with no hesitation. He took our pizza order and left. While waiting for our food, the restaurant quickly filled up. Our first server shifted to cover the outdoor tables while another server took over the indoor ones, including ours. We got our pizzas and they looked great. However, when I tasted it, it was bland and lacked seasoning. I actually had to add salt and pepper to it (which I’ve never done before to a pizza). We flagged our new server down to ask for Parmesan and red pepper (which they did not have but they had a pepper oil which only mildly had a pepper taste). I was very disappointed, but my sister was relatively pleased with hers, though she noted it wasn’t the most flavorful pizza she’d had either. After we had finished our meal, we each had about half of our pizzas left. I flagged our server down again for the check and two boxes. She literally rolled her eyes at me, took our plates, and walked away. I was shocked, I didn’t understand how my request was so demanding or what I’d done to get that response. She hadn’t come to check on us at all and we only flagged her down those two times. Perhaps she thought my request for modifications was too much, or that we were being too needy, but when you have customers with dietary restrictions the restaurant is supposed to be flexible enough to somewhat cater to them. I was thoroughly dissatisfied with the whole experience, from the bland food to the rude service. The only reason I didn’t give this place 1 star was that our first server was great and did...
Read moreI would not recommend this place for pasta, the pizza is maybe better. The best thing was the bruschetta, the two pasta dishes we ordered were very bland and watery, pasta severely overcooked. Husband said arancini were ok but came with no sauce or dressing for the leaves. I’m vegan so ordered the arabbiata with the cheese on the side (it came with straciatella), and husband ordered a pasta that came with buratta. When they brought the dishes, mine had cheese all over it whilst his had the buratta on the side (ie. wrong way round). The waitress was basically like oh well, and didn’t offer to bring a new one so I had to scrape as much as I could off and eat around any pieces that had cheese on. Not good value for the quality of food, spent €88. The ambiance and location is very nice though and they have some nice...
Read moreAbsolutely aweful, had to walk out before we could order a drink. We booked a table for 4 and upon arrival were taken to a cramped back corner amongst other diners. The restaurant was mostly empty so we asked to sit at a different table. This is where the problem began… the waitress rolled her eyes but said ok. She then proceeded to obviously ignore us for the next 10 minutes. When we asked if we could order a drink she said there were two tables in front of us (who arrived after). Her arrogance was unmatched by any other experience in France. We walked out at this point without being offered so much as a glass of water. Do yourself a favour and go 3 doors up to La Vinci! Fantastic service without the arrogance of all the staff. Cheaper food and drinks too. Do yourself a favour and...
