(2 of us for dinner on Wednesday in March). Highly recommend. Walked in without reservations. Place was busy, so we were happy to be seated right away. Service was attentive and friendly. Food is amazing, some of the best we've had in France over 2 weeks. Good fish bread with olives for the amuse bouche. Green veggie soup for me, delectable bone marrow for my friend; second best bone marrow I've tasted on the planet. I got the fish for main plate, my friend the epic-size steak n frites which comes out on a enormous cutting board. Desserts were probably the best we've had in France: Paris-best & Mille-Feuille d'Arlette. So so divine. Kir Royal great, but the bottle of Cabernet Franc that was recommended, oh my goodness, incredible. So incredible, I bought another bottle to take home with me. It was Saumur Champigny from Lydie et Thierry Chancelle 2020 (fruity and more heavy...

We dined at Chez Bruno and, for the most part, the food was quite good. Unfortunately, my experience with the filet mignon was very disappointing — the dish was extremely dry and contained a hair. I did not eat it, aside from two small bites to confirm the issue, and asked for it to be taken back once our server returned (after my wife had already finished her meal).

Despite this, the item remained on the bill. When I politely inquired, the waitress apologized but stated she still had to charge for it. This left a poor impression, as the dish was clearly not consumed.

Overall, while some dishes were enjoyable, the handling of this situation and lack of service recovery were quite disappointing. The restaurant feels more geared toward tourists than genuine...

Simple food well prepared at a good price, given that Amboise is a tourist town. Starters were a stupendous smoked salmon with a fine dill sauce, and a bland but hearty French Onion soup. I had the fillet mignonette of pork in a wonderful tarragon sauce — alas, served a little less than warm, but the delicate sauce carried it through. My husband had the lamb and couldn’t have been happier. It looked amazing. Potatoes Lyonnaise were outstanding with both mains. The deserts — Raspberry Charlotte and profiteroles — were good but not great. Service was cool but swift and competent. We would both happily dine here again. A reservation is absolutely needed in the season, and possible outside the season, as there are few truly good restaurants...

The best food in amboise. We had lunch here. One red wine. One whitenine. For entree we had the haddock fish in mushroom and perfectively cooked egg. It was amazing and tasty. For main I had the pork shoulder cooked for 10 hours and the most juiciest port shoulder that I have had. Just done. Not less not more and the burnt garlic and onion cooked in owned sauces. Most brilliant. My wife had the fish of the day with vegetables. It was Cod fish. But she just gave 6/10 because of the cod portion was very small and bit underwhelming flavour. But Overall a great place. Overall 8/10 may be 8.5/..just the small reduction for size of Cod and flavourful. Everything else was brilliant. Service was very friendly..

Firstly the staff are absolutely ace. The staff really make the place. It’s a busy strip of restaurants and they handle the crowds expertly. However, the food is really average and unfortunately brings my rating down for this place. It may have been the particular dish I chose. I had the steak tartare which was marinated in a mayonnaise type condiment. It was so saucy and rich that it took away the beauty and clean taste that a steak tartare should have. Really disappointed. My partner had the beef cheeks which was quite nice albeit too salty. Again, we may just have gotten unlucky on the day.
