I have never felt more embarrassed or stupid. My family and I visited this restaurant after looking at Google reviews and upon entering, I asked if there was room for 5 people. The owner was clearing up a table for 4 and there was an empty table for two. He told me there was only room for four people but it felt like he was joking with me. When I jokingly told my daughter she would have to wait outside he just laughed. I asked if we could sit at separate tables he said there was only room for 4. I had no idea if he was joking or not. I know there was a bit of a language barrier but I truly felt like there was room, he just wasn't willing to accommodate us. I couldn't tell whether he was joking or not. I had Cod with vegetables (savory) and rice with a yummy sauce. I should have asked for some more, as this brought the Cod more to life. I was looking for a lighter dinner, which this was. The restaurant had a nice ambience. We didn't make a reservation in Amboise, so this was the only place we could get in. We were in desperation mode when we had dinner here. We faiped to make a reservation anywhere and all the good restaurants were fully booked. Staff here were very friendly but the food was so so.
