We had a very unpleasant experience at 6:30, at the end of the afternoon, trying to order some snacks with our drinks. I speak fluent French; I might now have used the words a French would have, but I clearly asked for a “snack like a pack of crisps” (« comme un paquet de chips »). While the waiter was collaborative, a man who seemed in charge intruded in the conversation and rudely shut our mouth, saying ”sir: the kitchen only opens at seven!!!”, shaming us for asking. Just to be clear: they do serve snacks with drinks during the afternoon and we had no complaint about the kitchen being closed.
The behavior was hard to accept and we left, Loudly complaining there as we are now...
It's been a while since I had to write a negative review, without a doubt, I will never return to this establishment. The customer service was extremely poor, not to mention that I ordered a croque monsieur, which took a while to arrive. When it arrived and I chopped it with a knife and fork, I found a MINIMUM of 12 hairs (which I didn't take a photo of because I It was very disgusting and I wanted them to get that hair sandwich out of my sight as soon as possible), without exaggeration it looked like someone had cut their hair and left it there on purpose, they should change to being a wig store since they like it so much sell hair When the waiter was notified, he rolled his eyes, did not apologize, gave me another one and from then on did not speak to us during our entire stay, completely ignoring us. A shame that one of my first gastronomic experiences in France is this. The Diabolo on the other hand did have a good flavor. I DO NOT recommend this place in the slightest, if you can, find another better establishment where you will be treated with minimal human decency. At least, that was my experience, everyone can make a human mistake, but at least...
Read moreWe arrived in Amboise Saturday afternoon without a hotel reservation and pretty much everything was full. ||||This was the only hotel in town with available rooms and we were actually a little worried because when we called we were told that the rate is 40 Euros. ||||We parked the car (free public parking nearby) and walked to the hotel – and to our surprise it was actually not bad at all and the location was definitely a plus. ||||Room was fairly large and clean and beds were OK. The only problem was that the washroom and shower were common on the hallway – but otherwise clean and fairly well maintained. ||||Although this hotel was not our first choice, we would not hesitate to stay here again and we would recommend...
