This is the second time I come to this cafe. The first time I had a bad experience so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We arrived 40min before closing and sat at one of the tables. The main female waiter seemed super busy so we politely waited to be served. Nothing happened for 10min. I called the second waiter to tell her that we wanted to order and she said "ok", but no one came to our table. 10min passed and I decided to stand up to go to the comptoir to place my order. The woman at the bar told me they were closing (it was 20min before closing) and she wouldn't serve us. I had to tell her that we had been waiting for 20min and she said that she'd made an exception and -annoyed- she asked me what we wanted (she has the right to be annoyed, but HEY we've also been waiting for a while now!). I ordered 2 teas but she refused to serve us the tiramisu we wanted to try. We drank our teas and as people started to leave the waitress that I called to order, came and told us the museum was closing. We were almost done with the teas so we sped up a little. Later a man came and told us "The museum has been closed for 10 minutes already, we are close now" in an unpleasant tone. I said thank you, finished our teas, and left.
My advice: The service industry is under tons of recruiting stress which is clearly the cause of their current service; so come to the garden with your snacks (the food is ok but the service makes you feel like you're an inconvenience) to enjoy the garden at your own peace. No need to spend energy ordering at the...
Read moreThis is a lovely restaurant in a new unique setting with terrible food and worse service. I ordered the steak which to me looks like a piece of me that should’ve been handled differently meaning either very tenderized or marinated because you could see the striations in it and it had no fat. I cut into the first piece and it was extremely tough. I ordered it medium. I gave it a second bite thinking maybe the end piece was just really super tough the second bite was just as bad as the first. I took one bite of potato and one bite of vegetable while I wait waitress to come over. She asked me if I wanted a new piece cook differently I said no I don’t think it would matter this is just a really tough cut of meat it should’ve been marinated or tenderize differently I would like to order something else. She said no you ate half of it in French people we order meat rare and it was my fault that the way the meat was tough because I ordered it medium. I said Madame I’ve been ordering food in a restaurant for 40 years I know my cuts of meat I know how to order food. She wouldn’t replace it with anything else, I paid my bill and left and I want to put it on here because not only was the food bad but the way she treated me was terrible yelling at me in a very quiet restaurant was not the way to handle this I should’ve been offered something...
Gadagne Café in Lyon has great potential, but unfortunately, it is not fully utilized. The place itself is interesting – atmospheric, well-located, and with a pleasant ambiance. The service is also a positive aspect – the girl behind the bar was friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, the quality of the coffee leaves much to be desired. The flat white and cappuccino we ordered turned out to be almost identical – just coffee with milk, without properly frothed foam, which is a major downside for a café aspiring to serve good coffee. On top of that, the price – €20 for two coffees and two desserts – is excessive for what we received.
In summary: a place with potential, but if you appreciate good coffee, you might be...
