A little “Gem” in Lyon
Table for 2, Sunday 12th October 2025
We decided to put our mobiles away for 2h, sorry no pictures.
Traditional Sicilian restaurant, lovely decor, amazing food & service.
What a wonderful experience, our lunch was divine.
We started with a couple of cocktails each : “Sicilian Mule”, “Negroni” and “Aperol Spritz”.All perfectly executed and delicious.
We ordered a bottle of Grillo ( gorgeous dry Sicilian white wine, recommended by the sommelière) to go with our starters. Was so good that we had to order a second bottle by the time we reached the main course.
For starters :
Rolled aubergines gratin “ parmigiana style”, ricotta cheese and pesto
A warm ratatouille (not the French way but the Sicilian one, Gusteau will be jealous) with Burrata
Both were very original and delish
For Mains:
Something that we never tried before a portion of house-made pastas with pesto and king prawn carpaccio. Wow!!! amazing!!! It’s not on the menu, ask to see if they can do it.
Grilled Octopus, garlic chickpeas purée, sautéed spinach, citrus & pine nuts salad. Amazing, could not fault it.
Dessert:
Cheese plate with a couple of glasses of Côtes du Rhone and a tiramisu to finish with the food . Priceless
All dishes were well presented and full of flavour.
We had the chance to meet with the Chef, Luca, a young chap, full of energy.
Service was faultless, Paola is running the show in front of house, she is very bubbly and lively, always smiling.
She is assisted by 2 young waiters, very polite and knowledgeable.
The real Sicilian food.
The place to be, definitely a must try if...
Read moreAs an Italian food lover, I’d say the food was below mid. Arancini was bland and dry, I don’t know what was wrong with burrata but it was really acidic I couldn’t eat it. For main dishes we ordered fettucine tartufo and polipo grigliato. Although the truffle sauce was tasty, you could taste the raw heavy cream in it, it was very unprofessional. I actually loved the orange and almond salad that comes with the Octıpus. But as for the octopus itself, it came cold and also it was really hard to slice it and also chew it. I can’t comment on how it tastes because it was so cold. I didn’t take more than 3 bites on any of the starters and the meals we ordered. As for the desserts, I highly recommend cannolo di ricotta. It was perfect, and an example of how a good cannoli should be done. As for the panna cotta, it’s not the best I’ve had, it was too heavy for a panna cotta and again you could taste the raw heavy cream so heavily, I find it a bit sickening. Aaandd for the strawberry sauce on top, it tasted artificial like the store bought ones. Service was so amateurish we had to explain we want the starters before the main dishes. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing meal and we do not recommend this restaurant. The interior design was wonderful—very entertaining. The food was not good, the music was in English—not Italian and the service was terrible—very slow and not attentive at all. We were brought good bread and bad olives as amuse bouche. We started with the fritto misto del pesce. The fritto was okay but it was accompanied by a béchamel sauce—that’s French not Italian. That dish should have been served with aïoli. There were too many calamars and only one sardine. For our main, we had the linguine allo scoglio and we didn’t like it. The pasta was al dente but it was cut more like udon so it was too thick and too chewy. There were too many mussels and not enough clams. As usual we shared everything and there was more than enough food, Indeed, we didn’t finish the main and we decided to leave without dessert. We spent 69€ and we left...
