I had high hopes for this cafe as it is not so easy to get good speciality coffee in Lyon. The coffee was okay, nothing amazing, and the temperature was lukewarm at best because the milk was not heated sufficiently. I pulled out my iPad to respond to a single urgent email, only to be immediately told off by the barista as it’s a “no laptop” cafe downstairs, and you would have to go upstairs if you want to work. This despite the fact that there was a guy (I’m guessing he was a student) sitting downstairs right in front of me with a huge pile of papers and books that he was working on, I kind of didn’t get the distinction between the two.
