Giovany's Ristorante — Restaurant in Lyon

Nothing special or even good: the "steak" tasted as if you bit on shoe soles (it was definitely overcooked and I'm not even sure if it was a proper steak cut of any kind). The "peppersauce" consisted of cream and pepper (boring in taste, consistency and colour - absolutely not like it should be). For this the food was seriously overpriced - 27€ for a meat dish without quality. The staff (the young waiter was an exception, at least he asked in my interest) was not accommodating at all when I asked if it was possible to have potatoes or any other vegetables instead of fries. Our table was not cleared until we left and we were never once asked if everything was fine/if we needed anything/if the food was to our liking - neither when we sat there, neither when we paid. All in all I know that there are some restaurants that you just should not visit as a tourist (we only went there because my friends were already really hungry), but at least a minimum of politeness could have been expected. And its just a bad feeling to stand up from a meal being completely...

We went in while the restaurant was empty 2 tables outside while they had over 10 tables ready for service, my dad spoke in English (I am french) the waiter proposed to us a table next to the entrance of a building we tried to get another table the waiter (with the glasses on) was beyond rude I told him I see a table of two over here he said "if ever I have a table of six or eight I will merge all these tables together so you either take what I propose to you or you sit inside), so they lost existing costumers for imaginary ones. we didn't accept tried to speak to the bartender but he told us there's nothing he can do.

Unprofessional, non-commercial, extremely rude.

Located around the Vieux Lyon area, the Giovany restaurant was my selection as I was craving Italian food on this particular day.

The restaurant has a good ambience to it even though I ate outside because of the weather. But when I went inside the restaurant, I could feel the nice cosy ambience it had.

On this visit I had the Milane braised chicken, Napolean Pasta with cheese and lemon for some zest.

My meal tasted really good and I loved every bit of it. My chicken was well cooked and it tasted just as good when I had the Milanese braised chicken in Italy.

I'll definitely visit this restaurant again. The hosts are friendly and they speak English which made...
