La Raffinerie — Restaurant in Lyon

My experience here tonight can be summarized in one word: meh. The service was mediocre, the drinks the mediocre, the atmosphere was mediocre. There's nothing that stood out about this place that would make me want to go back. In fact, there are many other similar places nearby, and I'd rather find a new place than return here. I saw on the menu that they have a white russain. Not being a fan of milk, I tried to ask if they could do a black russian instead. I don't think the server knew what that was and she wouldn't even let me explain that it's just a simple swap of Coke for the milk. But no matter, I won't be returning here anytime soon.

Update: You can tell by their snide and childish response below the level of service you can expect to receive here. As you can see in my original review above, I didn't ask them to make me something from scratch. I just asked if they could swap out the milk for Coke, which they clearly have...

An excellent café bar in an old neighbourhood of mine, located on a sunny corner with a friendly if abit rustic terrace. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. And they are never so busy that they forget you. The prices are a tad high, but not unreasonable, and the menu is varied and tasty. When you see the long line of beers on tap, you think Whoa! Ce bar propose autant de bières originales que le service manque de chaleur ! En effet, ayant payé à des amis une tournée pour que ces derniers puissent partir à l heure à une seance de cinéma, j ai été interpellé par un des membres du bar qui me dit d une façon abrupte et péremptoire que les personnes (qui sont partis plus tôt de l établissement) n avaient pas payé leurs consommations. Et là, la 3 eme dimension a commencé!. Un autre membre du bar nous demande ensuite de rapidement reprendre possession de notre table car de nouveaux clients arrivent. Ça on le comprend très bien mais il y a une façon de le dire qui s appelle la diplomatie... On a demandé à manger, et la cette même personne nous repond sur un ton nonchalant que ce n est pas elle qui s en occupe. Bref, j ai payé l arriéré et on a pris nos cliques et nos claques pour ne plus jamais revenir. Le plus : le choix de bières originales, le grand moins, helas...
