La Trattoria de Saint Jean — Restaurant in Lyon

We had an enjoyable dinner here. The pizzas were good (not the best I’ve had but comfortably above average) and my eldest enjoyed the children’s pasta dish. The children’s dessert is just a pouch, which was a surprise because I didn’t see it on the menu. I think adding a scoop of ice cream to the children’s menu would be a good touch. The staff were very nice with us and the children, the children got colouring and when paying (which you do at the counter) the waitress was talking to the children which was a sweet touch. When we went it was early for the dinner rush (6.45) so we got a table easily and it was relatively quiet. The only real negative I can think of is having one shared toilet down in the basement with the bins. But with the location of the building probably not much could be...

I was very disappointed by the service there, they made mistake in taking our order, they left us waiting more than 15 minutes to order dessert when the waitress arrived, we complained about the delay, instead of apologising for the mistake and the delay we’ve been told that we did not wait enough to complain. Very expensive for the experience and service offered. Such a bad experience, we went especially to this place, we were looking for a nice pizza, so we sat there for a bit and ordered for starters a beer, my sister can only eat gluten free, so we asked for the menu and didn't find something for her to eat, we apologised, paid for the drink and went to find some other place for gluten free, since non could be found, we went back to this place because we liked the place alot and wanted to try the pizza, the mananger was so rude and sent us out in front of all the guests, telling us we aren't welcomed back in this place!! Such a bad experience...
