le Tabagnon du 6 — Restaurant in Lyon

We’ve eaten at Tabagnon du 6 twice since visiting Lyon. Both dinners were outstanding. The staff members are friendly and welcoming and have created an atmosphere of comfort and intimacy. On both occasions we were greeted enthusiastically by Gabriel. Alban was our server on both evenings and demonstrated thorough knowledge of the wines of the Rhone valley. We expressed our preferences and he paired a white with my wife’s meal and a red with mine. He remembered our choices from the first time and recommended two other excellent wines for our meals again. My wife found the salmon excellent and I enjoyed the beef so much I had it again. My main dish included a beautiful ensemble of vegetables and a delicious serving of layered potatoes that my wife was compelled to poach from my plate. We got a great help from one lady who works there today.(24/12/2024) We were late for the airport, and she called us several times to call a taxi. Big big thanks to her, we arrived at the airport safely!! Although we had to change the plane, but we are on our way to our destination safely. Thank you sooooo much again.

First visit to Lyon and this is a great place in a nice quiet part of town. Very comfortable atmosphere and the food and service were both excellent. Special mention to Gabriel, whose service and humour made the visit so worthwhile.

We took the set menu and would highly recommend the sea bass with celeriac purée....
