Les Éclaireurs Pâtissiers (Beaux-Arts) — Restaurant in Lyon

Les Eclaireurs Patissiers are next-level excellence for eclair lovers, like myself. I have tried & tested eclairs in small boutiques, artisan bakeries, Michelin-star restaurants, famous pastry shops, etc... basically every place that makes them.

Some have been good, and some have been great- but none come even close to the divine eclairs (sweet & salty flavors to choose from) as offered at les Eclaireurs Patissier.

I am a really loyal fan, especially for the chestnut eclair, the salty caramel eclair and the double chocolate eclairs. It’s the quality of the ingredients, the mix of flavors and the size/quantity of pastry to cream that is perfectly calculated.

It is the ultimate luxury! I have bought these for friends and family (some who don’t even particularly like eclairs) and everyone was wowed!

The store is hidden inside Musée des Beaux-Arts. To get there, enter the museum, pass the billetterie and the first ticket check, and head up to the first floor. Instead of going through the second ticket check, turn right after the stairs. The museum staff are friendly and will guide you—no museum ticket needed if you let them know you’re going to the store.

The éclairs have excellent, flavorful fillings. I got both pistachio and passion fruit eclairs and they were both excellent and the flavors were like the real thing. However, the puff pastry is not as great as it leaves a slight cloying sensation. It’s worth trying, but one is probably enough.
