Vagabond Coffee — Restaurant in Lyon

I was quite surprised and disappointed by the service I received at this café. I wasn't sure about what I wanted and needed some advice. I asked if I could have an iced coffee and if "blended" and "frappe" meant the same thing. Before I could explain what I wanted, the barista cut me off by saying, "Just tell me what you want, don't tell me how to do it," which really surprised me.

I tried to explain that I wasn't telling him how to do his job, but that I was asking a question and needed some advice because I wasn't sure. He responded with, "There aren't 50,000 ways to do it." Because of this attitude, I couldn't really get the advice I needed and didn't end up getting what I wanted, although what I got wasn't bad.

I find this experience unfortunate, especially after reading all the good reviews and receiving recommendations...

Vagabond is amazing, jonathan (the owner) makes amazing coffee, his service is amazing, he has a wonderful attitude, and really his location couldn’t be in a better place. He really takes the time to get to know you while he makes your drink. I went this morning after seeing reviews about it and just to get a latte and now I know that it is so worth the hype. A very special place for a coffee in Lyon. The service is top, the filter coffee is incredible, the espresso is perfect, and the location can't be beat. Highly recommend a visit on a sunny day to take in the river and city view while having a coffee from a ceramic mug or getting one to go on a cold day and take walk on the river.
