Chalyamba — Restaurant in Lyon

We had to wait 45 minutes after receiving the menu until we could order and only because I went inside and asked for someone to take our order. After another 30 minutes we still had no drinks or food. Even the drinks should have come by then, especially because they had water bottles inside for every table. Everyone around us got served, even people that arrived waaay after us. We asked how much longer it is going to take but our server told us that she didn't know. We told her to cancel our order. She offered a dessert for free which we declined (we just wanted to leave because it's our vacation and we wanted to visit Lyon not wait for another hour...). I really don't know how this is possible, the service was poorer than poor. Maybe you could put servers on tables, so everyone serves the same five tables or something and not being everywhere? I think something like this wouldn't probably happen then. The stuff was friendly. I'm giving two stars because of the free dessert that was offered. But please improve, no customer should be...

The servers were really nice but the food quality was poor.

I ordered the yoghurt and granola and it was clear that it had been sitting in the fridge for days- it was extremely soggy and a very small portion, it also took a while to come out which was strange as it was clearly prepackaged (my friends smoothie also took 15 minutes to come out) keep in mind there was barely any other customers. My friends order the avocado toast, one ordered a scrambled egg and got poached and both of their avacados were very clearly not ripe, they could not cut through it. So although it wasn’t pricey we still felt very ripped off :(. Shame as they had great staff even the waitress understood my shock when the yoghurt arrived in the tiny pot but didn’t offer any assistance.

Me and my boyfriend went on Sunday to have brunch as we have heard that they have the best brunch in the city. The food was very good and we really liked it. However we waited more than an hour to be served our food and as we were never updated on the preparation of our meals it was always us who asked the service many times about the status of our order. As I said before the food was really good but I don’t think it’s worth to wait more than an hour to be served. Also what really shocked me is that we didn’t get a gesture as an apology, I’m not saying they should have give us our order for free but to at least give us a coffee (which in fact was a little cold when served to us) would have been great.
