Vapiano Lyon Confluence Pasta Pizza Bar — Restaurant in Lyon

Our 3th visit to a Vapiano-formula and we sadly found out that 1 restaurant does not equals the other. Started with a not-so-warm-welcome by a waiter clearly not so happy with his job. Although the place was pretty empty (first clue?)(visited on a sunday evening at 6pm), tables were not clean with empty used dishes. Tried to order drinks at the bar, but no one present (second clue?). After a while friendly waitress came to help me out. Sadly, problem with pression beers - she did her best but the beer was tasteless. Soda drinks could not be ordered due to problem with the card registration. Meanwhile, some of my company tried to order pasta's. Very unfriendly staff with clearly no basic politeness towards customers. This guy would not make a chance in the Vapiano Londen resto. The food itself: pasta pollo del orto had poor taste: chicken was clearly overcooked. Pasta bolognese was ok, but nothing we would came back for. The Lasagne al forno was the best dish we got. Coincidency that this was served by the most polite waiter/cook? Anyway, we skipped our dessert and left the place as quick as possible. Clearly some work to do here by the manager. Vapiano France became self service restaurant with questionable quality of food. The only time I saw a staff was at the entrance and when they brought me a pizza. Dirty tables, bathrooms and nobody comes to check on you if the food is good or not. You sit at cleanest table possible if you can fin one, you still have to spend some time cleaning the table after which you order food via QR code. Pizza comes with waiter and after that no human visible. Quality it is a shame to even compare what Vapiano used to be or I have experienced in other countries. But who to talk to?! It is in great location but empty seats and I know why. I’m just wondering how is possible that someone is still paying franchise since I don’t see any income there and with “quality” and “service” it is not surprising. My advice don’t go there at all. I came here around 1:30 pm 21 June 2021. The restaurant was extremely understaffed. When I came in, there were dirty plates piled up everywhere. There was only one poor lady cleaning the tables. Even though the poor cooking staff tried their best and worked really hard, I still waited 35 minutes for my pasta. Even though the cooking staff were all very helpful and friendly, the guy at the check-out had the worst attitude ever. The bar was always empty so the check-out guy who was also in charge of the bar was the one to blame. The food was delicious but not better than Vapianos in other countries, while the price is extremely expensive considering the cost of living in Lyon where there are much better and more cost-effective options.
