We wanted to sit there for dinner last night. The Great Zeus (the boss) showed us a table. He kept talking. He had menus in his hand while wiping the table and took them back. When we asked for the menu, he brought it grumbling. He took it back 3 seconds after giving it to us. We thought he would probably bring an English menu, but he made it clear that he didn't want us with his words. We were astonished. The lady at the neighboring table complained about him to an employee. We were very respectful and polite. His behavior was strange. The waiter wanted to make up for his rudeness. We got annoyed and got up. We asked him. He said we didn't thank him. However, it wasn't true. I think the Great Zeus sometimes chooses victims to vent his anger. We were the victims that night. It doesn't suit you to try to humiliate people in front of their children. When we read the comments, we saw that he did it not only to us but also to others. And he tells people the same thing. "You are lying" or "Stay at home". We are not lying and I think it's time for you to stay at home. Hurting people is not a skill. I wish patience to those who live and...
Read morePositive: Friendly service with a neighborhood feel. Generous service and reasonable prices.
(Negatives) unfortunately I did not have much luck with my food selection. I ordered a calamari salad (GORGEOUS presentation). The calamari was tough and had a jerky-like texture. The dressing was lovely, but I had to pick through bits of salad that were old and turned bad.
Next I took the Aioli (as suggested). Generous serving. I don’t know if this was done on purpose, but the fish was over salted. Maybe the saltiness of the fish is supposed to be off set by the steamed veggies?
I regret not trying the beef ribs… I really want to like this place so I give it overall 4 stars and I will come once more… if it doesn’t work out next time I...
Read moreWe had a great experience at L’oli Be this weekend while in Marseille. We were coming to visit Palais Longchamp in the afternoon and we all wanted a bite to eat beforehand. It is located straight down the street from the entrance of Palais Longchamp maybe 7 or 8 minutes walk. It was a bit after lunch around 2:30pm or so but they were so accommodating to cook for us even though it was past lunchtime. The outdoor seating was perfect on a breezy day. We ordered the octopus, calamari, patas bravas, and tomato with burrata. Everything was fantastic and exactly what we wanted. Pricing was a great value, as three of us ate for 40 Euros. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area and want...
