La Marinière — Restaurant in Marseille

Horrible experience for someone who is not from France. We had very little time in Marseille and wanted to try the local dish Bouillabaisse. We came to this place since most other restaurants were to open at noon for lunch. We were not hungry at all so we wanted to just order one and taste it for lunch. The owner or the responsible person for the restaurant got really angry and said it cannot be shared. I wish we just left the restaurant after that but we didn't. After that we faced with a weird and really disturbing attitude from the staff. We felt we were not welcome there and didn't feel safe (Marseilles is not a safe town anyways). I wouldn't recommend anyone visiting Marseille and in particular this restaurant. I am sure there are way better tourist-trap restaurants around the port that you would be welcome more. By the way, Bouillabaisse didn't taste well at all but I don't know if it is the dish itself that sucks or it is the restaurant. The staffs' attitude was much better towards local or French-speaking people. Eat at your own risk. I ordered the Bouillabaisse. After walking around the harbor for 30 minutes after the meal, I became violently ill and I returned to the hotel. After cleaning up I returned to the restaurant to alert them that there is a significant problem with their bouillabaisse. The waiter, who was friendly and had exceptional English skills -when alerted to the poisoning by his meal, started the ‘Ol ‘I don’t understand’ I then quickly countered with my best French mime impersonation of a customer with exploding cheeks and then spewing .6 liter of 48 minute old bouillabaisse all over his hostess stand while simultaneously rotating the air gestured vomit at a nice couple at the near table. At this point his wife (le’ chef) engaged in the conversation, and explain to me in perfect English “this is not possible“. I was explaining I had simply returned to the restaurant to alert them, so that others are not harmed. They both began repeating “this is not possible“. Never ever come here!!! Service is the worst, the most rude and arrogant I've ever faced before, moreover food is bad or just nothing special and isn't worth the money. They call themselves as a "restaurant", but in fact it is not. Don't waste your time and money on this awful place - food is disgusting (pretending to seem like French dishes), waiters are more than impolite (of course no one can say a word in English). My friends had a bad experience with food there, but since it's one of the nearest to the port and we had just 30 min left for a ferry departure, we decided to spend time their with a glass of wine (it was the time of the WC game with France team, so all the bars were full). It was absolutely empty when we came there, but a waiter refused to take the order in an incredibly rude way (almost yelled at us to make us leave the "restaurant").
