We wandered in here yesterday evening because we were drawn by the old French tunes they were playing. It was an excellent choice. We sat outside. The decor was nice, and the fences along the side of the footpath effectively shut one off from the road outside. Our waiter was friendly and eager to inform us of the main dishes and drinks. The girlfriend ordered the cocktail of the day - rum, basil, orange juice, lime, and a sort of mango puree, all with a type of dried berry on top. She was very impressed with it. I had one of the white wines which was decent. We had three of the tapas dishes - the chicken gyozas, the arancini, and the volaille Marseillaise. All were excellent. The arancini were perfectly cooked, and in a sort of Ragu with parmesan. The gyozas were well fried, firm, and mildly spicy. The food is fantastic, the best I’ve had in Marseille. Highly recommend the pork rib, panisse (local specialty), and the French toast dessert. The pork rib melts in your mouth. The French toast was divine. The staff were super friendly. 5 stars, but there are 2 things to know. The portion sizes are small, and even 3 mains + bread + dessert shared between 2 people, we walked away hungry, even though we dropped €50. So, while the food is amazing, be prepared to spend more than that. The glassware has the same problem as lots of restaurants in the area - they smell like something died in them. La Pagaille is a hidden gem in Marseille! The ambiance is absolutely charming, with a perfect blend of rustic and modern. The service was impeccable – the staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to offer their recommendations to compliment our chosen dishes. 😌

The food was a culinary masterpiece. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We enjoyed a delicious meal of wasabi shrimp, chicken tacos, and possibly broccoli donuts and roasted duck. For dessert, we indulged in a heavenly french toast with ice cream. To complete the experience, we paired our meal with excellent wine, thanks to the staff's expert recommendations.🤤🤌
