What in the name of Spanish appetizers is going on here? This has to be the worst tapas I have ever exeperienced. Four of us booked a table, it was early about 6:30 and the place was empty, however we were the only diners the whole evening and I cant say I'm surprised. From the moment I saw the uniformly diced fruit in the sangria I was reminded that a certain Gerrman discount supermarket, popular throughout europe sells packets of frozen sangria fruit of similar apperance. Sadly the comparison with said supermarket didn't end there. The croquettes, the squid, the patatas all evoked memories of what i could buy in the freezer sections back home. How this can be rated as one of the best tapas bars in Marseille is beyond me. Yet the dreadfulness doesn't end there, added to the uninspiring food is the baffling drinks policy. White wine can only be bought by the glass, red wine by the bottle and its expensive to boot! Chuck in the most disinterested maitre to have ever embraced the hospitality sector and you have the perfect recipe for an evening of utter gloom. This state of purgatory was brought to an end with the presentation of a bill which was undecipherable but which came to €117 - we paid but only to release us from this glimpse of hell. Just before we left at 9:30 an American couple came in but were turned away because he "was closing in half an hour". He could afford to turn them away, hed just rinsed us good and proper. It will be interesting to see how many great reviews...

I wrote the above line in 2022 when we visited.
I now understand why we ate frozen food reheated in the microwave (which ring we heard when there) after stumbling on a French TV programme by chance last night. The host is not a cook. What I feel is totally unacceptable is the lack of hygiene in the kitchen at the time. The lack of honesty as well. We were eating supermarket ready /processed food. Nothing was meeting the standards.
It looks like the place has been renovated, the kitchen professionally refurbished. However, the host needs to employ a chef who is an expert in Spanish cooking. There is no way 1 single person can juggle cooking, welcoming guests and serving. And keeping hygiene standards high, as expected.
I wish the host well in his venture. He owes it to all...
Read moreWhat a rip off. Any reviews with more than the minimum one star must be fabricated. The food is clearly supermarket frozen purchases. I've seen them in a German supermarket frozen section. Wine ..what wine. No white wine except a little bottle he found. Cheap sangria with frozen fruit from German supermarket. No atmosphere because we are the only diners. I've had better tapas in...
