OMG... BIG NONO.

I am typically easily satisfied with the food and I have not super high requirements, but this was easily the worst restaurant I have been in my life.

We were really looking forward to eat here, looking at the menu, but at the end it was a big big big nono... the cocktail [hugo] was expensive and tasted of nothing.

The food was even worse. The meat tar tar [in the photo] was nicely presented, but tasted very very bad. The waiter kindly asked me while ordering wether I preferred it spicy or normal - specifically mentioning the quantity of hot sauce - and omg... the problem was not the hot sauce at all, the problem was the overwhelming presence of horse radish. You could only taste that, and it was not pleasant at all, destroying my nose for the remaining of the evening.

I do not know Alsatian tradition and I do not know if horseradish is a thing, if there is some sort of cult around it... but omg... I could have maybe understood a hint, or a bit... But I cannot imagine anybody in his/her right mind liking that.

The two stars are only for the waiter who was at least decent/funny. Actually, he maybe should have mentioned the presence of horseradish in the meat tartar.. which is not even present in the original recipe, I guess.

Another dish that we tried was the traditional veal head... not appealing and pleasant either [but maybe you need to be used to it, we do not know]... The vegetables were kind of ok-cooked, yet tasted predominantly of butter. Ah.. the fried potatoes were ok, and the waiter brought us extra sauce. Maybe the highlight of the meal! Maybe the hamburger could be a good choice. We do not know. But it is hard to believe, considering the overall quality of the other things we had.

Also it is expensive, because it is in a central position. So yeah... I am really sorry for this review, because we were looking forward to try this place, but that is...

The staff is very rude. The place was completely empty. A couple entered before us and went upstairs, so we followed. The waitres was very unfriendly to them and then to us. We sat and she got very rude because we were two people and sat at a table for 4. It was Monday dinner time and they had like other 15 empty tables for four people. There was no way the place was going to get full. I can't speak about the food because we left before even ordering. We don't need to stand rude staff. No wonder why the place was completely empty (both floors) while most of the other places at the square...

We had a very unpleasant experience with the bearded waiter during our visit as foreigners. We simply wanted to enjoy some drinks and share two plates of food. However, the waiter reacted aggressively, questioning why we had only ordered two dishes, and then abruptly snatched away our cutlery.

When we paid, we politely asked for a confirmation of the payment, but he refused. To make matters worse, he then started openly speaking negatively about us to a waitress—right in front of us. Even though our French is limited, we fully understood the meaning...

Poor service, personal unfriendly, doesn't speak english and doesn't try to communicate. Is that a thing in France? Food didn't change our minds about this place either, though it was nice served. The tables are very nearly placed, no Covid distance
