La rumeur — Restaurant in Montbard

Don't get fooled by the front entrance of the place that might remind you of a pub or a nightclub, don't get fooled either by the "fast food" vibes the menu could give, this couldn't be further from the truth of La Rumeur This is a true gem. There is a 2 stories restaurant and a great looking bar in the back. Great drinks sélections of course, but the menu is what makes me gives 5 stars. All items cooked with fresh, local ingredients, amazing popular and traditional French cuisine, cooked perfectly. I particularly liked their omelettes! The plates are enormous and the prices are very affordable compared to other places. This is truly the biggest bang for our bucks of our stay in Burgundy. Also service is 5-stars, friendly, welcoming, eager to give great advice on the menu. We followed our waitress advice and were blown away by our food (best French onion soup for starters and best French brioche toast for dessert I've eaten in my whole life). I'd rather have a restaurant like La Rumeur offer simple and traditional food that is super tasty than a menu giving off Michelin starred vibes with overpriced meals that don't taste great. Bonjour, je vais noter par catégories afin de vous expliquer pourquoi il NE FAUT PAS manger dans ce restaurant. Pour la cuisine,(burger frite) la nourriture était correcte malgré des frites passées et un steak fait à base de béton, néanmoins le pain était très bon. Pour le service, nous sommes arrivés à 12h15 sans réservation, les serveurs était très aimables mais ne géraient pas la pression d’un “rush” et donc courraient partout sans prêter attention aux clients, ce qui a abouti à un oublie total de notre commande, et nous avons donc attendu 1h pour un plat qui de plus n’était pas à notre goût car pas de demande de cuisson de steak. De plus, lorsque nous avons fini de manger et que nous sommes partis payer le serveurs chargé des cocktails et de la caisse c’est amusé à nous éviter pendant 10 bonnes minutes en faisant du “rangement”… Enfin l’ambiance était moyenne, car les tables sont trop rapprochés et nous avions malheureusement des voisins, amis avec la serveuse beaucoup trop bruyants.
