La Prohibition — Restaurant in Montpellier

Don’t be misled by the name, La Prohibición is all about generous hospitality and vibrant flavour. I visited in late June with two friends and sat outdoors, where the atmosphere was relaxed yet full of life. Small tables spilled onto the street, a bit snug but in a jovial, convivial way that made the evening feel like a shared celebration.

The menu leaned Mediterranean, but with a flair for surprise, unexpected flavour pairings that felt both playful and precise. This wine restaurant is located in a small street after the boulevard of Sète. In this street you will find nice small restaurants.

This restaurant has a lot of wine and they will advice you for the right combination of food and wine. I ordered a Bavette and asked for a matching wine. And they gave me a good soft wine which match perfectly. The service of this restaurant is a 9 of 10. They know the background of the wine and they will match the wine with your meal.

Venus à 5 sans réservation, il nous a été trouvé quand même une table. Attitude remarquable car elles ne sont pas si nombreuses. Il vaut donc mieux réserver.

Ensuite le service a été tout au long de notre présence d'une grande attention et d'excellent conseil. Le chef "Dada" se déplaçant même en fin de repas pour savoir si tout s'est bien passé.

La carte, sans être trop longue prouvant de la fraîcheur des produits, est originale avec produits de la mer et viande. Tout le monde peut y faire son choix en fonction de son palais.

Préparations maison étant assis en salle, j'ai pu voir le chef travailler.

Entrées, plats, desserts, vin, tout est au top. A 5 personnes avec des choix différents, jugements unanimes : Du début à la fin, explosion de saveurs toutes en finesses et l'ensemble très bien dressé. AAA+++

Nous avons donc très très bien mangé.

2ème passage, toujours au top.

L'espadon était un régal avec une cuisson parfaite ! Vin toujours au verre très bien conseillé et excellent. Dessert, je recommande la pavlova, savoureuse, parfumée et pourtant sans trop de sucre.

Donc toujours AAA+++, bravo à toute l'équipe.

3ème passage : Entrée d'une salade de lentilles avec assaisonnement très fin mettant en valeur le produit. Plat d'un cochon avec sauce des îles lointaines et garniture de légumes dont de petits champignons de Paris très goûteux. On sent que le chef pousse son travail sur chaque produit. Vin parfait. J'ai testé en apéro... la limonade traditionnelle (on ne rigole pas svp)... et là déception car trop ronde avec le goût du sucre beaucoup trop présent. Je préfère celle d'Ogeu... comme dans mon enfance ! Service parfait, efficace, rapide, à l'écoute des clients, n'hésitant pas à questionner le chef pour vous donner une réponse.
