It looked like a market with fresh seafood. This market is said to run three days a weekâon Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdayâalthough another vendor gave us different days. Anyway, it was quite a large market with vegetables, wine and seafood, and we ended up at the seafood section. While we were wondering where to eat, a very kind blonde woman asked if weâd like to sit there. Since we had been looking for a free table, we gladly followed her and sat down. Next to us was an elderly French couple. They looked at the langoustines? king prawns? tiger prawns, and oysters we had ordered, asked the staff about them, and then added some to their own order. That reassured us that our choice was good. However, although we expected the seafood to be freshâgiven the lively market atmosphere and the fact that it was right by the seaâthe oysters turned out to be old and barely intact. I didnât eat mine, but one of our party, who ate seven, had to keep running to the toilet. For us, who usually only go to restaurants, the market was a fun and different experience, but it left us disappointed too.
