Le Rustique — Restaurant in Mulhouse

Fantastic service Fantastic food! Open till 10 pm. I was driving through France and found a place close to this restaurant to stay. Will, I picked a place to stay and this was the nearest restaurant open past 9:30. This was open till 10 and I got there at 9:20 pm. I was seated immediately by the friendly waitress who spoke English - much to my relief! Manu was in French but Google translate make quick work of it.

I ordered the sauteed mushrooms over salad and the beef filet with the Roquefort sauce. There is some magic in the olive oil they use for the salad dressing. It smells wonderful and seems to have layers of tastes and aftertastes. Don't get used to it - you'll have a tough time having your regular stuff. I got to taste it in the mushroom appetizer and a salad they served with my entree. Delicious! I ordered the beef rare and it came as ordered. They were out of fries so they substituted it for a lightly sauted vegetable. I've never had this sauce before and it didn't disappoint. Rich with all the flavor of blue cheese without being overpowering. When the plate arrived I thought there was a bit too much sauce - boy was I wrong! It was all gone by the end of the meal. Every dish I ate was DELICIOUS! I was there well past closing time - something I hate to do, so I was glad there were a few other customers as well. I expected the check to pack a punch but for all the food I ate it was very reasonable. Also, I think their menu changes frequently - not sure though.

I must say again that the lady that served my table is an absolute gem! I went in prepared for all sorts of confusion due to the language barrier - but she made my experience so positive that it's worth writing home about. I tried to tip her and she politely refused. Her attitude and her service made this meal...

Ce qui nous avait attirer, "le début de la faim" et la carte qui nous parlait fortement. De plus, un belle note en avis.

Assez déçu au final, un service qui n'est pas à la hauteur de ce qui est décrit sur le site même, on s'attendait à du rustique mais pas au sens profond.

Une serveuse qui, "en extra", ne connaissait pas du tout la carte, même les plats typique de sa région. Certes le Stroganov était délicieux, mais le saumon grillé était poêlé et on devait chercher la salade. L'assiette de fromage était très bien, mais déçu de la crème brûlée en poudre.

Ce qui est le plus décevant, c'est que le cadre ne correspond pas ou plus au photo, surtout côté terrasse qui est délabré.

Pour le service, pas de communication entre le personnel. De plus un langage inapproprié agrémenté... Une tenu des plus inadéquate, jogging pour le serveur et un ensemble non valorisant pour madame...

Brefs une grosse déception... un couverture attrayante, mais une lecture de très mauvaise qualité...

PS: vous avez du potentiel,...

The worst experience ever. We had reserved for 10 people and when we got there they said that the reservation was made for only two. I guess there is a big difference between two and ten in French. In the end they did nothing and let us go even though we were with old people and a baby....
