| Recently I have stayed at severarl of the well known French hotel chains and find this so much better. Those competitor places tend to offer just the bare minimum and have very small rooms where you just can't relax properly. ||First of all the location is great. You are steps away from the train station, and about 2 mins walk from a couple of good restaurants including a good Italian restaurant and the 'Au Bureau' pub/Brasserie. The rest of the restaurants are about 5 min (by foot) beyond that.||I was in a single room, and it seems a good size for one person. The rooms and especially the bothrooms have been recently renovated, which I appreciated.||Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. There is no 'bar' as such but the front desk does have two beers on tap! There is a terrace out back that I've seen from my window. ||.A few people have mentioned that the hotel does not have it's own dedicated parking. |But you can park for free on the streets around the Square de la Bourse, near the hotel from 7pm to until 9am. If you are only staying overnight this might work perfectly. And if you arrive earlier or are checking out later, you can pay for a couple of hours. Can be paid by phone or at the machines. || If you are staying a few days or would like 24 parking, there is also a private car park 500m away that the front desk will tell you...
Read moreI stayed recently with my husband and son and we had a reasonable enough stay.||The room itself was on the small side but comfortable and clean. We were grateful for the air con and tea making facilities. There was also plenty of storage space which was great. The bathroom was a bit disappointing. It was quite a tight space with a shower over the bath, but unfortunately one of those shower heads that just slides down the pole which was frustrating. There was also an issue with the hot water whilst we were there, which wasn't great but these things happen.||The breakfast was okay. Not a lot of choice but decent enough. One morning a staff member did say to us if there was anything we wanted which wasn't out then to let him know and he would see what he could do. This was appreciated. One morning however the apple juice and the flavoured yoghurts ran out but we couldn't see anyone to ask.||The staff were all very pleasant. Not overly chatty but they always said hello and acknowledged us. The location was probably the best thing about this hotel. It's a 5 min walk to the train station which was ideal for us. There's also lots of places...
Read moreI stopped by here yesterday evening to get a last minute room (no reservation) as I have this entire vacation. The check in process went really well and I got great information on street parking. It’s easy to park here if you have a car.
I did have a small issue the following day close to check-out. The shower head needed a simple repair, but I was told they could not get to it until the evening (after I checked out). Also.. and this was extremely irritating: housekeeping would not stop coming by for whatever reason. The lady spoke zero English. She insistently tried to have a conversation with me and I did not know what to say. And I actually speak a good deal of French. Way more than an average American. I told her I could not put the do not disturb on my door because maintenance was coming. She did not understand. Later she came back trying to rush me out of the room. The check out time is 11:30!! It clearly states this in the book. She came by before 11am and again tried talk like I could understand her. Totally unprofessional. I did not get my money’s worth out...
