L'imprev' — Restaurant in Nîmes

I think the one of the best restaurants on whole trip in France 🇫🇷 from Paris to Nice and to Provence area. I like this restaurant open 19-00 but was opened even before and without problems very nice lady letted us inside before. We as poor hungry and tired tourists highly appreciate this gesture:) Food was impeccable! Really amazing! We had for starter Pan fried cuttlefish and shrimps. The best really! And for mains 1)roasted duck breast filet with potato’s and veggi confit 2) veal entrecôte with tapenade. Dessert we took to share hot smoothy chocolate cake 🍰 We were alone till 20-00 and after came lots of local French people it is sign :) - we were in really good place!!! I cannot say enough about food and people who works there! Thank you so much for such memorable experience at your restaurant!!!! I will recommend all who I know to go to...

The location of the restaurant is very nice in a quiet square. The menu is well balanced and the prices are in the medium range. We had a linguine, risotto and a steak. The first two were okay but the steak was bad: fatty and chewy. The deserts tiramisu and feuillete were good. The waiters, which seemed to be the owners were rude and condescending. The chairs were very uncomfortable so I asked them for a cushion. She got very annoyed but complied. I commented on the bad quality of the stake but got only annoyed silence in return. L'imprévu m'a été recommandé par des proches qui avaient particulièrement apprécié la qualité et la fraîcheur des produits. Mon expérience, elle, a été bien différente.

Nous avons rapidement été placés dès notre arrivée cependant, le serveur semblait débordé, stressé et n'a pas su nous renseigner sur le menu du jour. Nous avons commandé un sashimi de thon et saumon, accompagné d'une salade roquette, gingembre et wasabi ainsi que des tagliatelles à la tomate et au pistou, jambon cru et parmesan. Nous avons demandé à ce qu'il n'y ai pas de wasabi et gingembre dans le premier plat, le serveur a prit note, mais l'assiette est arrivée contenant du wasabi et chaque poisson surmonté de gingembre. Au niveau gustatif, le saumon n'était clairement pas de qualité. Si les tagliatelles, elles, étaient bonnes, elles m'ont valu une indigestion. Au dessert, le coulis de fruits rouges n'était certainement pas fait maison.

Enfin, si le restaurant affiche fièrement accepter les tickets restaurant, il ne les prend pas les dimanches, ni les jours fériés ni même les soirs en général. Une expérience très très pauvre pour pas moins de 42€ (une bière, un verre de vin, une entrée, un plat de pâtes et un café gourmand).
