The place with the tables outside looked nice, so my wife and I had dinner there. My wife had a pizza. The pizza was good.
I had Escalope de veau milanaise. I'm a cooking teacher. If my teenage students came up with a meal like this, they would be suspended from class. The linguine were overcooked, far from al dente. The tomato sauce was just warmed up tomato paste with little salt. No taste of oregano or any other herbs, no onions, no garlic, no or only very little pepper. The escalope's breadcrumb coating was black burned at one third and full of grease. An escalope's coating is supposed to be crispy. The vegetables were cooked to sloppiness, maybe kept warm for hours.
I didn't eat the noodles at all. I tried to save the meat by taking off the coating and taking a few bites. But soon I gave in and stopped eating. There were no spices at the meat at all. When making a coated escalope you are supposed to spice the meat, so the spices can go into it during frying.
The waitress although seeing the bad meal blatantly charged the full price, saying I shouldn't have eaten at all. Maybe she's right. I will never eat there at all anymore. This food was not meant to be for human consumption.
Remark to the restaurant's comment: The ironic answer perfectly shows the restaurant's policy and attitude. Translated into daily speech it says like "We don't care about some unhappy customers. We don't see any reason to improve as long as we...

I would wholeheartedly recommend meeting them, they're the epitome of "above and beyond" service and are very warm and polite.
Oh and the place has good beers too, try the "Chouffe" or "Cherry Chouffe", they're delicious and...
Bien...
