My wife and I had the opportunity to go to the restaurant Lion et l’Agneau whilst visiting Nantes. We were lucky enough to be seated in front of the chefs and could see the action in the kitchen. Chef Thierry Lebe is very passionate, he clearly cares about the products he used. He was happy to explain the dishes and their origins. The food was excellent with great attention to detail. The price was really good value considering we had a great time in a lovely atmosphere.

Had the most wonderful meal this weekend - the food (and wine suggestions) was incredible. I had a seat at the kitchen bar, so looked out into a very calm and well organised kitchen. Loved the food, I think only beaten by the service from both the waiter and head chef. I opted for three courses; don’t think I can pick a favourite course. Also, very good value for the price; they could easily charge more. A big thank you to the team - so glad I ate here. Highly recommend.

Just landed from Madrid and stumbled in- unfortunately no open tables except outside- but actually outside was so nice! (But I think if you want to come during peak dinner hours you should make a reservation) Ordered the razor clams with chorizo- did not know this combo worked but wow! And then the pork! So good! Def recommend this spot if you’re craving something other than pizza. The jap ramen next door was also very busy!

Really weird experience here. My partner booked this place three weeks ahead of our holiday to Nantes as a nice surprise for me to celebrate given the ratings were so good. However, when we arrived to our booking we were told we would have to sit up on a high table facing out to the kitchen to which we politely asked if we could sit on either of the two normal 2-seater tables still available so we could sit opposite each other and enjoy the experience more. A female waitstaff initially said we could change after we politely asked only for another member of staff (presumably the owner) whispered something to her and dismissively told us we could only sit up at the high top chairs which faced into the kitchen and were very steamy and not at all what we wanted. Our only other option was to sit outside where it was cold, no atmosphere and really loud techno playing from the bar next door. A literal night out turned to a nightmare, we pleaded with them again only to be told that we should have specified in our booking we wanted a table!? Very disappointing experience and had to walk out! It felt like you had to be a local to be treated with decency and respect and the way we were shrugged off was bizarre. Luckily didn’t experience this anywhere...
