Two words: TO FLEE. This restaurant is a tourist trap headed by a manger who only cares about business and not offering a nice experience. I resent this place because of how scammed I was, I’ll explain: I ordered mussels and fries with a glass of wine. The mussels basket was served half empty, but that’s not the only concern. For the mussels that were there, half of them were empty, missing the edible part, and the other half were closed and impossible to open. I raised the issue with the waitress, who was very friendly and communicated the matter to the manager. However, the most shocking part was that the manager completely disregarded the issue; he did not bother to come talk to me even though he did cross my table many times, nor did he bother to tell the waitress to offer any discounts. Even she was shocked! I truly do not understand why such a tourist trap restaurant with such a bad manager and food has these reviews. I regret every dime I paid. I wish I had refused to pay. It was this bad, really. Now I gotta go order another dinner somewhere else….

We were on the promenade at the height of a Saturday evening when we decided it was time for dinner. We stopped at Le Bistrot De Jennifer & we were lucky to get a table - although being a party of six may have helped in the situation. Our server was super friendly & we were taken care of quickly. I have food allergies (see pic of card that was shown at every restaurant.) I started with the mixed salad that was DELICIOUS!! I'm sorry I didn't order 2 as my main dish, which was just a simple plate of rigatoni w/some vegetables was swimming in peppers (which I can't eat, so I guess they didn't really read my card.) So that was disappointing but I won't knock down the rating because overall the experience was delightful & everyone else's food was good, (which included, salad caprese, linguine bolognaise, fricasse poulet, penne arrabiata, daube de boeuf magret canard bordelaise.) I liked the salad so much, I even came back another night to have it again. Stay safe everyone & enjoy your travels.

Friendly service, a vibrant location and mediocre food & drink. We ended up visiting here out of slight desperation on a very busy Monday evening. We had a Margherita pizza (okay, if a little doughy), a Caesar salad (again fine), a chicken Milanese escalope with spaghetti pomodoro (the escalope was a little overcooked on the exterior and the spaghetti was bland) and some frites (curiously limp yet over-cooked on the outside - my guess is they're using the wrong type of potato). They would not make my son a Margherita pizza without tomato (I know an odd choice, but he doesn't like it) - they said because of some culinary objection, but I am suspicious that it is because the pizza is already made... The drinks were okay - I had a glass of rosé which was a bit meh. Overall not bad, but equally somewhat forgettable. I regret not waiting for one of the other establishments with a bigger queue or venturing off the beaten track...

Some of the worst service I've experienced in my life was at this restaurant. To start, our server was extremely rude regarding our food choices, going so far as to let us know if what we ordered wasn't what he prefers. For example, he made grossed out facial expressions when one of us ordered a particular sauce for their mussels, and again when someone ordered their fish a certain way. This made us feel dumb for ordering what we did.

Secondly, he consistently forgot our orders. I had to ask him for water FOUR times before he finally brought some, by which point the meal was 75% over. I also had to remind him three times for wine / beer. I am fairly certain he was doing this intentionally to our table.

Thirdly, he was abrasive and rude the entire time. When I couldn't understand something he said and politely asked him to repeat himself, he shouted at me "WHERE ARE YOU FROM?" which was off-putting and straight up weird.

Lastly, and most importantly, when we asked to pay he brought us our bill plus a calculator, and pointed at the bill and then added 15 euros on top of that in the calculator and said that's how much we need to tip. After the worst service I've ever experienced he told us exactly how much we need to tip, in a country that DOESN'T even tip. I am almost certain he did this because we're from North America where tipping is the norm. I don't believe he did this for any local customers.

The food wasn't even that great either, and the whole experience was made worse by this one man. I would avoid this place as there are many other, better restaurants near by with much much...

The waitress was incredibly presumptive in asking “how much tip would you like to add?” We are not in America, this is not a country with a standardised tipping culture, it is so rude to presume we want to give a tip and makes it awkward to say no. The service was not above and beyond and it was difficult to attract attention of servers. I was trying to tell the waitress that we did not want to pay a tip and she automatically put down €5 extra on the card machine and was trying to make us pay it. My boyfriend said we would give her coins instead and gave €1.50 which isn’t much but we didn’t want to give a tip in the first place. The service was nothing special and they get paid to serve us, that’s their job so why demand extra? Put on a service charge if there is a problem with servers’ pay. Asking “would you like to add a tip?” is awkward enough but presuming we intend to is much worse. Shocking and have never experienced this before. Food was mediocre - Camembert was nice but very strong, mocktails were nice, steak was too fatty, chips were good, sauce was not the best. Would not return mainly because of the service although the food was not enough to attract me back either. It’s a small thing but we were really unhappy with this presumptive and rude behaviour. We know this is not standard in France and perhaps they thought we were American (we were speaking in English) and as it is custom there, maybe presumed we could be tricked into doing it. Not fair or right either way. Tips are an extra for going above and beyond, don’t expect...

The WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I ordered a ravioli and my boyfriend ordered steak with pepper sauce and mash. First problem, the pepper sauce and mash were cold, as if they had just come out of the fridge. We asked politely if they could change it. They took the items and put them in the microwave and brought them back. No big deal! Until my boyfriend tucks into his steak which was basically all fat and chewy. 26 euro for a barely edible meal… my ravioli was average but I ate it as I was so starving. We told the waiter who was very nice and helpful about our experience, he went to see the so called manager and who’s solution was to take off the ravioli dish from the bill even tho the steak is the dish we complained about!!! When I went up to pay and question why they were taking the cheaper meal which we did eat off, we were screamed at by a French woman who couldn’t speak a word of English. She was shouting at us in French and talking to to the other staff members about the situation aggressively and rudely. I feel so sorry for the owners of this business who have left such a incapable woman to run the establishment when they are not there. We will never come back and we will tell everyone we know how terrible this experience was. I feel really sorry for the waitor who was working and had to deal with this woman as his boss. Totally shocked and annoyed for such an overpriced restaurant -100/10 experience!!!!!!! Also why is a woman who cannot speak a word of English in charge of a restaurant on a busy tourist...
