I dont know what to say here... My Fiance loved her Dish, Mine was just not good.
She ordered Fritto Misto, it was really good. Good taste, good sauce, crispy, not to much fat. I ordered Gnocchi in Beef Stew. Maybe I was just unlucky but the Gnocchi had no consistency at all, they were like melting without biting them, they were defenitely cooked for too long. The beef stew had the right taste, the beef had some uneatable parts full of fat & Cartilage and was somehow not cooked well and felt tasteless.
The bottle of white wine we chose was really nice.
Since my dish was not something you choose to give your customer, we decided to not order a dessert. But the desserts looked nice at other tables.
Also we were seated on a table where the tablecloth or table mats were dirty with some stains and crumbs. I tried to explain that to the waiter, I guess maybe she didnt understand me but it seemed like she was angry at me for the request to replace them. I saw crumbs on other empty table mats too... Also the toilet was unclean, maybe thats a thing in Nice, I dont know, that happened several times. But nevertheless the team seemed to be friendly, the waiters were friendly, its not worth standing in a queue but maybe it is worth to try another dish here. I would recommend to ask the customers on the beef stew dish, maybe they should remove it from their card, if thats the way they serve...
Read moreVisited in September, read good things about this restaurant so we decided to try, however one of the worst customers service experiences of our life.
Our waiter Juliano was incredibly rude throughout, and rolled his eyes at us when we asked for an extra plate at the beginning of our meal. When our mains arrived, a bee was continually attacking us (we were startled as one of us is allergic to bee stings). When we asked if we could move inside, we were met with an incredibly rude tone, where the waiter repeatedly said “really?” and told us we were being silly for being afraid of a bee, even after we explained the allergy, before begrudgingly agreeing to move us inside.
At the end our our meal we decided to ask our waiter his name, and he told us his name was Juliano. However, upon seeing us note it down, he then said that he was wrong and his name was actually Gabriel. This was later confirmed to be a fake name (as his real name, Juliano, appeared on the receipt).
We were both completely appalled by the customer service received that evening and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Plenty of other restaurants on the same road that serve the same type of food that I’m sure offer much better service with...

Any restaurant in a tourist area one should give the restaurant grace. An abundance of visitors and presumably small kitchen usually means longer wait times. Casa Leya is a large restaurant with a sizeable staff. Unfortunately, the optics don't match the service.
To start, there's a 20 min wait just to receive menus after being seated by the host. An additional 15 minutes before drink orders were taken. The restaurant was understandably busy. However, the wait for mediocre food was long. My wife ordered a pizza, and I ordered a linguine pasta with large prawns.
It is incredibly difficult to make a bad pizza! This feat becomes even more difficult when your spouse is pregnant and hungry. Casa Leya truly ruined both of our appetites with our underwhelming meals. How this restaurant has so many 5-star reviews is mindblowing!
To add salt to an open wound, our seldom found waiter tried to force a €10 tip on us. Two hour dinner for two meals, no appetizers, and one bottle of water, a glass of wine, and ice tea is ridiculous. Don't fall for this tourist trap. There are much better establishments to explore in the...
