CoCorico is without a doubt a hidden gem in Nice France. Moses and his cousin run the restaurant themselves and pay very close attention to every aspect of your experience. Everything we ate was made fresh to order and from scratch in house. He started us off with a complimentary house made Greek style cheese with some of his own recipie freshly baked brioche. The cheese was excellent even to French standards.
I ordered a chorizo pizza and my friend ordered the carbonara pizza. Both pizzas were the best that we have had during our time in nice. Moses is very knowledgeable about all of his ingredients. Service was very quick, our pizzas came out right when we finished the cheese. He served us our pizzas with his secret recipe red pepper and garlic oil. Everything was delicious and went very well together.
Additionally Moses catered to my allergy restrictions with a reassuring and enthusiastic attitude towards my experience. I was confident that everything would be safe for me to eat. This was a great thing to have peace of mind especially while traveling abroad.
Finally, the prices were very competitive. This was the cheapest meal that I have had here in nice, and some of the largest portions. I would definitely recommend this place if you are traveling to nice. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back to try some more...
Read moreI stumbled on Cocorico restaurant purely by chance, as I was looking for something simple to grab for dinner after my long day of exploring the sights. I was lured in by the more healthy option of a mozzarella tomato salad, which I was hoping to takeaway, but I’m so glad I decided to stay instead. The salad was as good if not much better than the salad we had few days earlier at a seaside restaurant at Villefranche sur Mer. The cousins that run this newly opened restaurant are so friendly, and clearly very passionate about their food. Everything is made in-house, from delicious bread, mushroom tapenade and the pizza dough. The quality of the food is outstanding and the price is very reasonable. Cocorico is brilliantly located to grab lunch on your way to the train station or on route to the museum. I quite like that it was on a quiet clean street, felt very local. What a gem of a find, I took a box of mushroom tapenade with me to London, that’s how good it was. Look forward to...
Read moreOne of my best food experiences during my trip to the French Riviera was at Cocorico. It was almost 11 pm, and I was looking for a place to eat. Cocorico was a few blocks from where I was staying, so I gave it a shot.
What a great place! The two cousins are so passionate and proud of their food that it makes you really want to know more. They make everything homemade and proudly insist on it. They even showed me my bread dough before putting it in the oven. I ate an amazing kebab with fries and was lucky to try a slice of pizza and their absolutely champion tapenade.
I took my dessert home to eat the next day, and it was also BRILLIANT. Even 24 hours later, it was still very fresh and tasty. It's so well done and magical!
Those guys are...
