La Javanaise — Restaurant in Nice

First let me say We are not tourists, we live in Nice, work between Nice and Monaco and eat in a lot of restaurants on the French Riviera

Now This is by far the worst food We have ever tasted!!! ☹️

I personally took the duo de Thon supposed to be served with Salad and Fennel but there was hardly any salad, only two ridiculous slices of Fennel and a sauce with lots of passion fruit seeds absolutely impossible to chew and definitely not compatible with the raw tuna. One of my friend got a typical dish that was not at all how it was supposed to be. Another friend got the carpaccio of octopus that was completely tasteless and had to ask at least for some lemon; and her risotto had a strong smell/taste of cheese (not truffles) we also had fries, crunchy at first but became so hard after 5mn that we could not chew them. The grilled vegetables were really tasteless and seems to have been prepared last week and warmed up in a microwave.

I expressed nicely our concerns at the end of the main course and told the waitress we would not get dessert and asked for the check the waitress was kind and sorry and told the chef, who stayed in his kitchen and on the contrary to the waitress did not seem sorry. He did not even care to come and talk with us. (It’s an open kitchen, we could see him from our table)

On top of this, less than an hour later, I got sooo sick from the food! I DON’T recommend this place to...

What a dissapointing experience! To spend 700 euro to be treated terrible on your birthday! The service is varying from rude to non-nexistent. I wanted to spend my birthday on the beach, thinking we would eat and drink on sunbeds all day... But we were not even given menu! Had to go and to order a bottle of water myself, and when it finally arrived, the server asked "do you need glasses too?" 😂 At the end we went to eat inside the restaunrant, the food was amazing, unfortunately we had to spend over two hours waiting for the menu/food etc. They didn't congurtalate me with my birthday even my friend asked for it and ordered a dessert on purpose. We returned to sunbeds, the sea water was green like a bog so no swimming! The music was only inside the restaurant not on the sunbeds... We ordered a few bottle of wine and when the waiter brought the bill he demanded tips! Finally we wanted to have dinner and spent another 2 hours just waiting around with servers being rude and not even bringing us water! Daily bill at Javanaise was 700 for three people and they don't think for this money people deserve to be treated nicely... Because of such a slow service we couldn't even stay for party. The only nice people were at the reception. Too bad because the food is really good, the music too, but the service is...

Eh… nothing special. I wish I would have liked it more after shelling out $100 euros for 2 lounge chairs, but it was front row and a mediocre beach in front of me. The food was very overpriced as expected. My Caesar salad was fair and my wife’s burrata salad she also thought was fair. For $26 euro per salad, I would expect more. At the end when it was time for the bill, the waiter asked me to tip him more. He said 20% extra? I said, uh… isn’t that included and he proceeded to tell me that he needs 10% extra due to the service. He literally put our chairs towels on the bed. It was an overall fail for us. We couldn’t wait to leave after we ate. The large mountain nearby I guess is the best attraction, everything else leaves much to be desired. The waiter asking for a tip is wrong and not a good show of top service. If I receive top service, I’ll tip well. He needs to be trained in...
