Le Portofino — Restaurant in Nice

We really debated as to whether to leave this review - I try to remain positive or not review at all. But this had to be said.

Firstly, the service was good and its a nice patio where you can eat. However, the food was atrocious. It’s not hard to make decent Indian food (I’ve grown up eating and cooking it), but it was clear that there was a complete disregard for quality in these dishes. 1) the rice was reheated in the microwave, 2) chicken in the chicken vindaloo was extremely dry and the curry itself was not vindaloo nor tasty 3) the saag paneer had no paneer and had been microwaved.

The owners seemed nice, but they seemed to have lost their way. Perhaps it was once nice or perhaps people just don’t know what good looks like in this area when it comes to Indian food. Needless to say, we will not...

Used to be run by a SriLankan family but now seemed to be all french staff so wil see if this affects things going forward. Service was fine and though the onion bahji took 30 minutes to produce it was the best Ive ever had. The curry was ok but not amazing and the portions small . Considering the location and the lack of choice of other curry houses in the south of france then it’s ok… but if it was in the UK amidst a lot of other choices then it...

After reading mostly good reviews we tried this place. Unfortunately not a good experience. The different dishes we ordered were either not as described (half the ingredients missing), too salty or just weren’t served because they simply forgot them. Part of the menu also wasn’t available.
